GDT: Dallas Mavericks @ Denver Nuggets -- 12/27/2009, 7:00pm CST
Mavs face off against a tenacious and worthy foe in their own home just a day after edging the Grizz. They'd better bring their A game to this one. Hopefully Dirk will continue his amazing shooting, Howard will be 4th quarter Howard and not sleepwalking Howard and Terry will finally have a monster shooting game.
Can I get a round of "Let's go Mavs!"

I just saw your post in the other thread and didn't realize this is how we were doing it. If we lose to Denver, I will take back over. Let Erica have this one.

The key to this game is what we do with J.R.Smith. When he is on, they are difficult to beat...when he is off, he kills their offense and is a liability for them. We need to put Ross or someone on him and throw him off rhythm. Marion and Howard can cover Melo. Let the rest of their team try to out-shoot us.

The Thuggets are the new Jailblazers-- they are a dangerous team that can beat anyone in the league when they are going but underneath the lid there are a lot of big, angry egos with violent tendencies. Winning tonight is pretty damn important in my mind in keeping pace with the Lakers as well as solidifying second in the West.

I think Mavs have a shot, but I'm not going to bother with the game tonight. Cowboys are way more important at this point.

Tonights game isn't just a game. It marks us as a Western Elite. Beat the Spurs, Beat LA, Beat Phoenix... Time to beat Denver. We need to have all engines running and shut down JR Smith, Melo will get his points, can't let him go crazy. This game is about revenge. We aren't the same team that lost in the playoffs last year. We're just as athletic now, and we are better than them. So let's kick their @ss!

Winner claims 2nd place in the West, just in case anyone didn't realize. They're 20-10, we're 21-9.

Is Kidd going to pressure Affalo? He cannot allow Affalo to just be a standstill spot up shooter. Get on him.
(And I think Barea has the lateral quickness to stay with Lawson....

If Terry looks around, he can grab that rebound.
