The mavs need to learn how to take advantage of free points. (free throws)

Is George not even with the team tonight? I don't see him on the bench.
Diop is officially in the doghouse, no? Surely he could play against this team. I like what Singleton brings though. He rebounds and defends, which makes him much more suitable to play small ball with.

Mavs pretend to suck at first and makes other teams think they are weak then pounces on them like a Ninja

I don't mind JT missing because he is taking better shots and being more aggressive and active. They just have to fall.

My boy D.J. Augustin is ripping up the Mavs' second unit.

I see it coming... If Dirk returns, he will be stone cold again. It this so difficult for Carlisle to understand? If he wants to rest him because of the back-to-back, do it in the end of the game, but defenitely not so long!

Last year's Bob Cousy award winner for the best point guard in college basketball.
Any other questions?

It looks like Carlisle is really trying to find 2nd units that work.

The Mavs got in the penalty with 8 minutes in the second. Yet, they continued to go to Terry (who doesn't drive a bit) and therefore they never got to the line to make the pay. Inexcusable. Get it to a slasher or your best player....

Shawne's looking pretty good on the boards, though he got burned on D on that last play just now.

But up to now he hasn't found that unit yet... The lead was at 21 (?), shrank down to 13 and it's no up to 20 after Dirk came back. But Damp was a beast in his limited time. 8 boards in 10 minutes...

It's hard to really tell anything against a team like Charlotte (especially without JRich) but Williams/Singleton strikes me as an intriguing small ball second frontcourt unit. Singleton is a MUCH better defender and rebounder than Bass, and he also has the handles and agility to get to the rim if left alone. I would be more than fine with trading Bass for an upgrade elsewhere and playing Singleton at backup PF/small center.

Are you being sarcastic? I still have yet to see anything indicating that anything is wrong with Dirk's legs. I'm really not sure what all the fuss is about.

Shawne Williams,Singleton and Green has looked good today. Maybe they will be sparks in their own way. Williams and Singleton hopefully can bring energy and scrappiness off the bench + small ball lineups. And Green can bring the scoring....

FWIW, every single Mav that's played has a positive +/-.

Maybe they are currently figuring out how it works without Bass and Diop. Stack is gone, I wouldn't wonder if George doesn't see the court as well in the future. Maybe a package of Stack/George/Bass/Diop for a legitimate shooting guard or someone who can score in the low post.

I don't understand Carlisle's substitution patterns, yet I feel more safe with them than I did with Avery's. And I trust Carlisle!
I was ranking the Mavs today 1-15, I forgot one name. It was Shawne Williams, who has played tonight. I feel dumb

I hadn't seen that replay of McGrady. What a girl. He just started limping off the court while the ball was in play.
And now he's supposedly going to be healthy enough to play tomorrow.
I can't imagine rooting for that "dude".

T-Mac almost always "healthy enough to play." He's just a huge you-know-what. He wouldn't be playing tomorrow if the Rockets were going against the Bobcats, or some such.
