RE:Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
Didn't rebound, didn't defend, didn't run the offense.
Didn't play hard OR smart.

Road Woes Solutions?
1. Cubes is a rich techno junkie bastard. Outfit all the players with VR goggles/contact lenses that reproduce their opponents against the backdrop of the AAC instead of the road arena.
2. Drug the entire team during the practice before the trip, have them wake up in the other team's arena and tell them "The guy who paints the floor was drunk."
3. Equip Nellie with a large trout with which to smack his players early in the first quarter of road games when they are not performing well.

RE:Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
I can't watch the game. I am not in Dallas... but wasn't it the officiating? Sounds like last seasons Indiana game all over again to me. Plus the first road game after a long home stand, plus Dirk goes down, plus a back to back, plus this is still a young team(playing time together), plus the Suns were red hot.

RE:Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
Its early in the season, lets have J. Howard grow into the role so he can contribute come playoff time. I never wanted Howard to lose minutes to Delk but now it is even becoming more clearer. Delk is a scorer. We don't need anymore of those. Howard has skills that can come in very useful come playoff time. Although if you don't let him learn the league now, he may not be ready come playoff time.
Play the kid. He will have plenty of ups and downs, but we need a player like him.

Only problem was that it was the Mavs who SMELLED like a Dog's Ass tonight on the court while it was guys like Frank Johnson and Amare who LOOKED Like One....

Two more solutions:
To stop smoking or to smoke more just before the game (who said that about the players who smoke in the league? I think it was T-Mac).
It was funny how many posts we dedicated to the Dirk's smoking stuff. This tells us how good was the game.

RE:Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
Horrible, horrible game.
The great Coach Wooden once said the most important stat in all of basketball is FG%.
Well, that alone could tell the tale of this debacle, 54.4% vs. 39.5%. With the Suns shooting a scorching 59% from 3.
But it does'nt:
1)Forget the terrible rebounding differential, there were'nt that many rebounds to get....and between White and Stoudemire, there were 9 o-rebs.
2)The Mavs can't run the break taking the ball out of the net.
3)The Suns defense was game, however many open shots were just plain bricked.
4)Effort was'nt at where it needed to be. Defense was awful.
The Fortson foul was bad, reminded me of the time Juwan Howard fouled Antonio Daniels and AD landed funny and jacked up his shoulder.
Honestly, if Zarko had'nt flopped so bad after the contact he may have kept from breaking his wrist. Alot of players like to emphasize the contact when they get fouled to make sure they get the call, but if he had just tried to regain his balance instead of Vlade-ing, that fall would'nt have been so bad.
That said, it's unfortunate he got injured, he's a swell player.

RE: Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
I would just like to say that although I am undefeated in Cowboy's Game Day Threads, this was my first Mavs Game Day Thread and I want to apologize.
I will NEVER start one again.

RE:Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
OUCH!!! That was a butt-whipping of epic biblical porportions.
Without dirk the team turned into a completely perimeter oriented team. Very little hustle, very little desire out there. They were pretty much tied at the first quarter so they re-couped after dirk. But then pretty much decided it was time to go home and have turkey.
No doubt however how important dirk is to this team. Only thing they can really hang their hat on when things are going bad.
It's the first time in a long time that I couldn't watch it all. Sorry to hear about fortson losing it, but since the NBA promotes and highlights "tough-fouls" this stuff will happen. But he needs to pay the piper on it.

RE:Mavericks at Suns Game Day Thread
good thing I didnt post when this thread was still in prediction mode.
I was right about Stoudamire being off
I was right about Marbury killing us
I was totally wrong about the final score- I thought the Mavs had gotten up some momentum and gotten back to their love of being on the road. Last year we were unstoppable when away. Looks like I was totally wrong
