Gibbs should just keep airing it out. When they get conventional they look really poor.

When Santana caught that pass my heart started to beat fast remembering last year......

Although I think it's out of reach for them, especially now on 4th down.... but I'm certain I felt the same way last year.

F the Skins. F little Danny Snyder.

Washington was beat up and down the field in every way possible tonight. They looked like Baylor playing UT.

If they hadn't pulled off that kick return, this would look a whole lot worse...and a whole lot closer to reality.

Hope you enjoyed the playoffs last year, Skins. You won't sniff them this year!!

Courtesy of Norm: 7 three-and-outs in 11 possessions. That is STOUT!

Plus, it's more evidence that Washington is HORRIBLE.

The Redskins are not a good team, but they didn't have Portis tonight. They'll be a tougher out next time.

Like most Cowboy fans, I was wondering what the hell the front office was thinking when they drafted a small school DE in the third round...especially when the obvious need was on the O-line.

Well I'm no longer wondering. Jason Hatcher can flat out rush the passer. He could be a really good player one of these days.

Umm TO broke a bone in his finger on one of the first few plays of the game? He sure wasn't acting like it, other than the drops of course.

Bledsoe haters were blind tonight. He played his ass off after absolutely stinking it up last week. I call it like I see it, and am honest no matter who gets hurt. Bledsoe played great tonight, and the receivers/TEs dropped WAY too many balls.

Owens will probably play in the next game. That guy is a gamer.

And yes, D2K, Hatcher can freakin' play.

KG, the Skins are terrible. They will be lucky to win six games.

Owens was among the most guilty, starting with a flubbed pass in the end zone on the opening drive. By game's end, he was in the locker room with a broken finger that will undergo surgery Monday. He'll miss from two to four weeks.

SHIT!

Owens breaks finger; 3 Bengals injured

September 18, 2006

Terrell Owens will miss at least two weeks after breaking a finger in the Dallas Cowboys' 27-10 home victory over Washington on Sunday night.

Owens, who had three catches for 19 yards against the Redskins, was scheduled to have surgery Monday. He's expected to miss from two to four weeks.

Earlier Sunday, the Bengals lost three starters to injuries in their victory over the Browns, Eagles defensive end Jevon Kearse was carted off the field with an injured left knee, and Rams seven-time Pro Bowl lineman Orlando Pace sustained a concussion.

Cincinnati lost center Rich Braham to a knee injury, safety Dexter Jackson to an ankle injury, and linebacker David Pollack, who was taken to a hospital for evaluation of an unspecified neck injury. Pollack had full movement in his arms and legs.

The Bengals (2-0) played without receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh and left tackle Levi Jones, who were inactive with lingering injuries.

Kearse was injured in overtime of the Eagles' 30-24 loss to the New York Giants.

He seemed shaken up and was slow to get off the field when he sacked Eli Manning and forced a fumble early in OT. Two plays later, he teamed with defensive tackle Mike Patterson for another sack, only this time Kearse appeared to hurt himself much worse.

Kearse reached for his knee when Manning was sacked and couldn't put weight on his left leg when he was helped off the field. He was taken to the locker room on a cart, and will have an MRI on Monday.

Pace was taken to a San Francisco hospital for tests after getting a concussion late in the first half of the Rams' 20-13 loss. The Rams also lost linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa, who dislocated his elbow while tackling 49ers fullback Chris Hetherington early in the third quarter.

Pace, who missed just nine games in his first nine NFL seasons, didn't return after getting hurt during the Rams' final drive of the first half.

"He got hit in the head and wasn't able to come back in," Rams coach Scott Linehan said. "I did briefly talk to him at halftime. He wasn't feeling too good then."

The Bengals have a lot of healing to do.

Pollack hurt his neck while tackling running back Reuben Droughns on Cleveland's second play. Pollack, a first-round pick last year, hit Droughns with his right shoulder, then lay face-down on the field.

He remained conscious and gave a thumbs-up sign with both hands as he left the field on a back board. The team said he had full feeling in his extremities. Pollack was taken for precautionary X-rays.

Braham hurt his left knee while blocking on a running play early in the second quarter. He lay on his back in pain while the medical staff examined his knee, then was taken off on a cart as well.

Braham is the cornerstone to one of the league's most experience offensive lines.

Jackson rolled his right ankle while trying to make a play late in the first half. Jackson, one of the team's top free-agent acquisitions, could only take a few steps at a time while he limped off the field. Jackson also left the field for medical tests.

Elsewhere:

-- Redskins RB Clinton Portis was inactive for the game against the Cowboys with a sore shoulder.

-- Raiders QB Aaron Brooks was pulled in the first quarter with a sprained right rotator cuff after twice fumbling snaps from center, turnovers that led to a pair of Baltimore field goals. The injury occurred while Brooks was trying to pounce on the second fumble near the line of scrimmage, coach Art Shell said.

-- Rams LB Pisa Tinoisamoa dislocated his elbow while tackling 49ers fullback Chris Hetherington early in the third quarter. 49ers G Justin Smiley sprained his left shoulder.

-- Falcons DE John Abraham missed the win over Tampa Bay with a groin injury after being listed as questionable on the team's injury report all week.

-- Lions LB Alex Lewis sustained a ligament injury to his knee on the opening possession of the club's loss to the Bears; SS Jon McGraw sustained a concussion and SS Kenoy Kennedy injured his foot.

-- The Texans' were hit with several injuries: OT Charles Spencer was helped off the field with a left knee injury, and C Mike Flanagan hobbled off with a left foot injury.

-- Ravens OT Jonathan Ogden (knee) and CB Samari Rolle (foot) left with minor injuries. Oakland injuries included CB Fabian Washington (hamstring) and LB Grant Irons (back).

-- Seahawks TE Itula Mili, starting because Jerramy Stevens is out after knee surgery, left the game against Arizona late in the fourth quarter with his own knee injury.

-- Broncos WR Rod Smith took hard hits in the first and fourth quarters and was taken out of the game with a concussion. He didn't want to discuss his injury.

Cowboys WR Owens suffers broken finger, out 2-4 weeks

September 18, 2006

IRVING, TEXAS (TICKER) -- Terrell Owens did not plan on leaving his home debut for the Dallas Cowboys with a broken finger.

The five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver suffered a broken right ring finger early in the first quarter of the Cowboys' 27-10 win over the Washington Redskins and is expected to miss two to four weeks.

Owens tried to play through the injury and caught three passes for 19 yards, but dropped a potential eight-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

"I did it (broke the finger) the second or third play of the game trying to make a block," Owens said. "I caught it in a player's jersey and I think I jammed my finger. I found out later it was broken."

Owens left in the fourth quarter and X-rays revealed the fracture.

"I'll have surgery within the next day or so and they'll probably put some pins in there," Owens said. "I could be out anywhere from two to four weeks, but I think I'm a quick healer."

Since the Cowboys (1-1) have a bye next week, Owens may miss just one game - the October 1 contest at Tennessee. He probably will not want to be out for the following week's game at Philadelphia, which suspended Owens last season for conduct detrimental to the team.

Signed to a three-year, $25 million contract in the offseason, Owens missed most of Dallas' preseason practices and all but one preseason game due to a hamstring injury. He caught six passes for 80 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown, in the Cowboys' season-opening 24-17 loss at Jacksonville last week.

Owens, 32, had 47 catches for 763 yards and six touchdowns in just seven games last season before the Eagles deactivated him for conduct detrimental to the team. Owens had publicly criticized numerous members of the organization, including star quarterback Donovan McNabb.

Owens has 725 catches for 10,634 yards and 102 touchdowns in 144 career games.

27-10 - we're tied with the Giants for the division in week two... Not bad, since many predicted we'd be 0-2 at the bye... Anyone notice that Carolina is 0-2??? SuperBowl pick, my ass!

Carolina will rebound. It's only two games. They played a pretty good game today, and the Vikes are a solid team. Losing in OT to them, and going 0-2 when your best player, and focal point of the offense, hasn't played isn't that bad.

I agree that they'll bounce back - Smith is still out ('nuff said!)

Also, did anyone notice (despite penalties) that our defense only gave up 3 points? The defense really saved the game in the end...

"Mark Brunell, playing on his 36th birthday, had only 64 yards passing through three quarters... Brunell padded his stats in the fourth, but not enough to even make it a close game. He finished 18-of-33 for 197 yards, and was sacked six times, including the game's final play after reaching the 7."

Happy Birthday, bitch!

Yeah, that's the only reason they are 0-2. No need to write them off yet.

Oh, I agree that they'll bounce back, but a Superbowl contender can win without their stars... Observe, as we dismantle a scrub team in week 4 without Owens, as the Panthers should have in the last 2 weeks (although, Atlanta & Minnesota looked pretty good beating the Panthers...)

BTW, as Norm just pointed out, it's not a broken finger, it's a broken metacarpal. That's a big difference.

lol

No. It's much better. As in, there's almost no chance he misses more than the Tennessee game.

Brunell is horrible, the officials called alot of things they didnt need to call. THat game wasnt very entertaining other than seeing the cowboys win.

The Redskins are really really really aweful. The Cowboys made a lot of mistakes. I dont know how much good you can really take away from that game....a win is a win...but still.

I might take it wasy on really, really awful. I picked them to finish last in the division this year, and I think they will. But they still have a good defense, and I like the way we picked through it, even with Springs out.
