Default A head-scratching strategy...

take a look at that, that's really odd.

that is pretty funny. That reminds me of a college football game that had me laughing all game long. I don't remember what year it was. It was OU versus one of the Florida teams. The game was much hyped as the Florida team had a great offense. I think it might have been a number one versus number two type of game. It was in the later 1980s

Anyway, OU, who back then ran the wishbone predominantly, came out with 5-6 wide receivers each game. There were 2-3 on each side and they were standing as near the sideline as they could each and every play. And, on each and every play, OU ran the ball right up the middle against the empty box on defense. The Florida team couldn't put guys in the box to stop the wishbone which is what they practiced. OU ran for 5-8 yards per play all game long and the other team was powerless to stop it. Naturally, they couldn't fail to cover the wide receivers, because even a wishbone quarterback can pass to a man who is not being covered. It was a funny, funny game and OU won big time.

The difference between this coaching strategy and the one wmbwinn just described by OU is that OU's strategy worked. The fact that Loyola's coach continued using this strategy for an entire game when it clearly wasn't working is absolutely pathetic.

Yea that wasn't a strategy as much as it was a publicity stunt. The fact that the losing coach felt it necessary to defend his coaching resume tells you that he knew how idiotic the "strategy" was.

Stephen Curry is a darn good player. I hope everyone is taking the chance to watch him because he might be the best scorer to come along on the college level in the last decade or two.

You also have to appreciate his unselfishness in being willing to essentially take himself completely out of the offense so the rest of his team could run 4 on 3 the offensive side throughout the game.
