Default Mavs cut Rhodes; Celtics cut Darius Miles

Quote:
Undrafted rookie Charles Rhodes became the first casualty of Mavs training camp. The 6-foot-8, 245-pounder out of Mississippi State saw action in five preseason games, but really no significant time. The remaining rooks who are fighting for one available roster spot include: G JaJuan Smith (Tennessee), G Cheyne Gadson (Oklahoma State). Reyshawn Terry, a late second-rounder in 2007 remains in the mix as does injured point guard Keith McLeod. Fort Worth Star-Telegram
R Terry gonna win out?

Quote:
Darius Miles’ hope of returning to the NBA is not going to happen with the Celtics. The longshot free-agent signee, who missed two full seasons after microfracture surgery on his knee, was waived today by the Celtics, bringing the Green’s roster down to the league maximum of 15. “Darius was a model citizen during his time here in Boston,” said GM Danny Ainge. ”He showed that he still has a lot of basketball left in him.” Boston Herald
I guess we don't have room for him here, but I think somebody else will give him a chance.

Edit: Grr, can someone please fix the topic thread. I obviously meant Rhodes.

Anyone that acquires Miles will also have his 10 game suspension for drug use follow.

I saw some highlights of Miles and he looked decent. I imagine everyone does in highlights but he looked like a guy at the least who could be at the end of someones bench.

I watched a couple of C's games and it is really surprising that they cut Miles. He played well and still has plenty of jump in his legs even tho he's gained some weight. He seems to make better decisions than he used to with the ball and the few games I watched he played good D.

If I were Portland I wouldn't get too excited about him not making the C's.... 10 game suspension or not he will get on with a team!

The sad thing is even if Miles signs on with a team and plays the required amount Portland will still have enough money to throw at a top tier free agent. If Miles doesn't sign on with anyone then they could have enough money to land two really good FA's or one superstar.

Combine that with the skill they already have there and it's going to be scary how good they could become. I watched their game last night and just kept thinking how rediculous it is how much talent they have on their team.
