Official 2008 NFL Playoffs Thread
Some people are talking about the deadskins as the "team of destiny" and some might be making comparisons with the warriors of last year vs. Dallas.
Lets go Seahawks!

We would destroy the deadskins if we tried. IMO, there's too many people that go into the success of a football team for them to choke like the Mavs did.
...that being said...Go Seahawks! ;P

Crazy turnaround in this Skins-Seahawks game. Personally, I'd rather show the 'Hawks who the better team is after last year's debacle, and I don't really want any part of the Redskins right now. Then again, kicking the 'Skins out of the playoffs would be a lot of fun...

I haven't watched this thing. Are the redskins bringing the lumber? I'm not sure I'd seen a harder hitting team than the first cowboys game.

Coaches are stupid with their 2 point conversion charts.

Yes!
(I used to live in Jacksonville for a few years, I'm a little partial)
Either way, they're not going to beat the pats or colts.
What a game.

almost just like the game three weeks ago - get up by 2+ td's early, let the steelers back into it, then drive the field at the end to win it. i really thought they were choking it away, but they kept their cool down the stretch.
all they talked about was the steelers injuries, but the jags were down stroud, peterson, naeole, and 2 of their top 3 tight ends, then they lose henderson in the first quarter.
i think they might have a chance (not a huge one, but a chance) against the pats, especially if the weather is nasty. brian williams will have to play better or welker will chew them up.

Garcia got 2 as well - looks like Eli is the only one not tossing picks so far...

He made some bad throws though, I didn't think he played too well, but I guess it was enough to get the win.
The Giants and Seahawks are going to get destroyed next week.

The Titans sure do a good job of covering up Youngs obvious deficiencies as a "quarter back."
Looks like the rain will be the great equalizer here in this one.

The Titans-Chargers game is boring as hell... I keep checking in every 10 mins and nothing has changed...
3 & out - Chargers ball... 3 & out - Titans ball... 3 & out - Chargers ball... 3 & out - Titans ball... 3 & out - Chargers ball... 3 & out - Titans ball... 3 & out - Chargers ball... 3 & out - Titans ball... 3 & out - Chargers ball... 3 & out - Titans ball... 3 & out - Chargers ball... 3 & out - Titans ball...

If they are obvious then doesn't that mean they aren't doing a good job of covering them up?

Vince's passing is suspect but his leadership doesn't seem to be. That last play he was the first guy getting down to pick up that running back.

I don't see how he misses next weeks game. Even if he has to go out there and play with crutches.
I'd like to see Vince Young with a actual reciever playing alongside him. I think he has the tools to be a quarterback but not the type who can take a bunch of recievers who are either inexperienced or who are just decent to a championship.

Certainly it would seem that if SD is going to play that way, they won't have much of a chance. Although they did give Indy quite the game earlier this year.
Jacksonville, on the other hand, might actually be able to give the Pats a game (they won't win mind you, but a good game maybe). Especially if the weather sucks. I think the Jags are built right for crappy weather with those backs and that defense.

I wouldn't cry tears for either the Bolts or the Jags. First of all, the Jags are VERY good. And second, you are right. The weather is a great equalizer, and neither the Colts or the Pats are guaranteed victors.
The Pats, in particular, are vulnerable to conditions where they can't toss the ball about with reckless abandon.
Both those games are going to be fun to watch.
