Okafor?

Time to get this discussion out of the Deng thread - Okafor is worthy of his own.

He doesn't score or rebound like he used to, but he was still capable of being a double-double player when last healthy... Any word on his recovery? Because that should weigh significantly for a 31-year-old center.

My idea in getting Okafor was more along the lines of signing him as a free agent this summer. I wouldn't bet against him coming back and being productive in limited minutes yet this year, but it isn't likely that he's a factor for Phoenix or anyone else in the playoff picture this season.

That said, if he came back and showed he was healthy, I'd trade Marion and/or Dalembert for him in a heartbeat, since it would give us the inside track on signing him this summer. To me, he's the perfect type of guy to sign for the next 2-3 years until Dirk decides to hang 'em up. Perfect complementary player.

Okafor is a solid complementary guy on a good team. Like I said before, if he is the second best acquisition they make in the off season, I'm fine with that. But he isn't the type of player that will greatly elevate this team's chances. He is clearly superior defensively to any center we currently have.

He is making 14.5mil this season. I'm assuming he'll take something like 8-9mill next season. Anything more and I'm out.
