although scoreboard watching is low on my list of priorities for tonight,
there is stuff to watch for, as only two teams are locked into a certain seed in the west:

West seeds entering Wednesday night

All eight playoff spots are clinched in the West, but six seeds are still up for grabs. Here's a look at the current breakdown:

1. Golden State Warriors
2. Denver Nuggets or Houston Rockets
3. Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets or Portland Trail Blazers
4. Portland Trail Blazers or Houston Rockets
5. Utah Jazz
6. Oklahoma City Thunder or San Antonio Spurs
7. Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs or LA Clippers
8. Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs or LA Clippers

more: https://www.nba.com/playoff-scenario...-19-nba-season

OKC needs to win in Milwaukee and hope Denver wins against Minny, if they want the Rockets in the first round. Still a lot of movement possible.

edit: unless Portland wins, too (vs. Kings). Then they jump to #3, provided DEN still wins.

Wade trying so hard and desperate to make him bigger than he is for the game.

Wild that Houston slipped to the 4 seed in a 24 hour period.

Now were almost guaranteed GS/Hou second round. One team doesnt make it to the WCF.

On the other hand, one of these four (Nugs/Spurs/Blaze/OKC) will be in the WCF.

I’m not sure which of those 4 I think makes it to the WCF. Probably Portland? I haven’t watched a lot of any of those teams, but I feel like Den lasts a star outside Jokic. OKC is trash and the Spurs just don’t seem like they have enough thisbyear.

@JonKrawczynski: Jeff Teague has decided to exercise his $19 million player option for next season, league sources tell @TheAthleticMIN.

Lakers fire Walton... Ty Lue is a top candidate to replace him.

@tomhaberstroh: The Lakers don’t have a president of basketball operations but apparently have strong preferences for head coach already if you wanted to know how much power Magic’s replacement will have

Wow, Kings quickly moving to hire Luke Walton.

Makes me feel a lot more confident about keeping Carlisle.

Winners and Losers: NBA Playoffs Opening Day
Well, that was unexpected. Three of the first four games of the 2019 postseason saw the underdog take a series lead.
The Nets, Magic, and Spurs all stole Game 1 from their higher-seeded counterparts. The Warriors, on the other hand, remain inevitable.

Embid is an amazing talent when healthy, but he's beginning to look like the 2nd coming of Greg Oden at this point. :-(

Actually 31 point lead. GSW sure knows how to choke 3 1 leads. Wish the Clippers could beat them like GSW did the Mavs in 2007.

Patrick Beverly (6'1") pestered Kevin Durant (6'9") into 9 turnovers and fouled him out of the game.

I thought that was a bullshit strategy but it has worked!

I forgot Kevin Durant also knows about choking 3 1 leads as well.

No because it makes the Rockets road easier. If Beard and Troll win a championship I may have to stop watching basketball forever. And I really don’t want to do that 😊
