Looking at different photos, I think he would look a lot better with just a regular trimmed beard. The length just makes him look comical IMO.

So at this point, it looks like the MBT has managed to make other teams choose poor draft picks while we sneak and get quality players.

Luka will keep Donnie in the GM seat for many moons.
But hey, Frank is at least on the floor playing. I'm assuming Fultz is at some Buddhist temple somewhere hoping that spiritual development will bring his shot back.

Honestly Frank looks so bad I'd still take Fultz 10/10 over Frank long or short term. Last years class as a whole looks pretty underwhelming in their 2nd year. Considering how deep we all think it is, outside of Fox has anyone improved demonstrably in year 2? Especially out of the top 5. I guess if you go 10 deep Maybe Isaac, and you have to wait on Lauri since he hasn't played. DSJ at least improved his 3pt shooting and to his defense he has had to make the biggest adjustment of any of the others. But I gotta say as a whole the class is disappointing me at the 1.25 year mark. Josh Jackson in particular looks like shit. He was supposed to at least be a great defender until his offense caught up. He's neither.

It's pretty awesome that DFS is currently better than Josh Jackson.

I keep cringing when people bring up that the East might be better this year, because their four best teams > the West's four best teams. That's such a bs evaluation of the conference landscape. It's not even funny.
The East is 52-75 (.409) vs. the West, which would be the worst winning percentage since five years. Five East teams have a winning record vs. the West. Only three West teams have a losing record vs. the East. The West's 14th-seed Jazz is five games behind the 1st seed. The East's 14th seed Bulls is five games behind the ninth seed. The 8th seed in the East, Orlando, has a negative point differential at -2.3. The worst point differential in the West outside the Suns is Spurs at -2.9.
It's not even close. If anything, the East got more top-heavy, but the conference as a whole is still utter trash. Must get rid of conferences asap to restore a little bit of balance. Imagine the Mavs playing in the East. We would be coasting to a playoff spot with an outside shot at home court advantage. This is embarrassing...

Suns are sooooooo bad.
i take back my prediction that they'd be competing for the 8th seed
They may score only 7 points in a quarter

@FredKatz: The beauty of playing in the Eastern Conference: The Wizards’ 57 remaining opponents have a combined .472 winning percentage.

That's why they aren't going to make trades. Anyone in the east not named the Hawks, Cavs, or Bulls have a chance for the playoffs.

I personally think he swung his leg thinking he could kick the ball to avoid an easy layup since he was way out of position at that point. He never did that kind of thing before so I am hesitant to think he decided all of a sudden to trip Murray.

Lakers and Suns are discussing a trade for Ariza but want a third team to take on KCP for Woj. Man, if Wes and DFS weren't having such good seasons, then I'd be for getting him.

What's up with KCP anyway? I haven't watched much Lakers this season, but his numbers are waaay down across the board... Is it just LeBron bumping Ingram to SG while Hart eats up all the remaining minutes that could have gone to Caldwell-Pope? And how is the lack of burn affecting his overall development? Is this something he can bounce back from, or did he ultimately get bumped down the depth chart because his ceiling is limited in the first place?

Wow, ask the tough questions why don't you? I'm sure it's a mix of things and perhaps he just isn't that good. I don't really watch Lakers games either. His minutes are down 12 MPG from last season though which is going to affect the stats no matter what.
He and Smart were my number ones to replace Wes this past summer, and Smart's numbers are down too.

ugly in OKC...
(from Royce Young espn)
Westbrook hitting a career-low 21.8 percent from 3 and just 34.3 percent on shots from 15 to 19 feet, per NBA.com stats. Westbrook's 3-point percentage at 5.1 attempts per game would be the worst 3-point percentage in NBA history among qualified players to average five attempts per game in a season. He's also shooting a career-low from the line at 61.8 percent.

Both he and Harden play undisciplined basketball, and it's never going to change. Westbrook was never able to shoot though.
Thunder are winning now, but Russell's game will tank them in the playoffs...again.

Shooting is huge. Drawing fouls is huge. If they actually surrounded Harden with defensive players that could keep the opposing team to 85 or 95 points while rebounding the majority of available rebounds, they'd be a lock for the playoffs. Rockets just decided to trade all of their defensive guys not named Capela for guys that can't play defense. They're fine scoring the ball-- 8th in the league in offensive efficiency (Mavs are 7th). They just can't defend or rebound.
Rockets 2017-2018 (65-17)
2nd in offensive efficiency
7th in defensive efficiency
14th in rebound percentage
Rockets 2018-2019 (?)
8th in offensive efficiency
26th in defensive rating
25th in rebounding percentage
With how bad the Rockets are rebounding and defending, I half expect that the Thunder will be the better team .
Thunder 2018-2019
25th in offensive efficiency
1st in defensive rating
4th in rebounding percentage
They're terrible scoring, but they can defend and rebound as well as almost anyone and occasionally Westbrook will be efficient enough to win a lot of games. It's funny-- Rockets and Thunder are two completely opposite teams. Rockets can score but can't defend or rebound. Thunder can rebound and defend, but can't score. Still, Rockets can be slowed and they will lose a lot of games. A defense as good as the Thunder have will be hard to beat all year. They just have to find the points on the other end, but with how many second chance points they're getting, I'd half expect them to be top 3-4 seed.
Mavs 2018-2019 - just for fun
7th in offensive efficiency
10th in defensive rating
6th in rebound percentage

Trae Young isn't far off with 24.3% from three and 5.5 attempts.
