Yes, his occasional 2 alley oops dunks a game, his 6pts, 4 rebounds and zero assists per game will be sorely missed. Like, how will we function? There's no way to replace that kind of production.

I think you're right.
Do I hang up if he's brought up in trades? No.
Do I think he's a net negative I'd pay someone to take off our hands? Also no.
He's got the good atittude of Boban while occasionally being able to play some really solid minutes. Starter? No. Decent mix-it-up backup? Yes.

He didn't get any of those dunks in the playoffs last years because he's unplayable in the post season
How quickly some fans forget how bad he looked vs Phoenix and Golden St last year and the previous year vs the Clippers.
Fuch those alley oop dunks in the regular season that shit gets taken away in the post season.

He's getting DNPs for them which means he's available.
Then again, we have a top-rate rebounder who is showing his age with slow foot speed and he's also getting DNPs

THJ & Bertans for Westbrook.
I will keep beating this drum. Gives the Lakers shooters around Ad and Bron and gives the Mavs some future flexibility.

I?d do that and not think twice. Westbrooks expiring deal would be huge.

Careful what you wish for. Mavs clearing 36mil in cap this summer sounds good
but it's plan powder and we know how that will work out. We don't make any real moves. Fail on the good FAs, and then end up giving Powell 4/100 just to spend money.

At least clearing space means we can keep Wood. Cheap ass Cuban ain't paying up as is for him.
But that's wishful thinking and doubt Lakers take on Bertans.
Whatever trade we make will come out of nowhere like last year.

Rumor Mason Plumlee available for a first rounder. LOVE to have him, but everyone wants a first now.

With only 2027/2029 available (2025 if we waive our 1-1 protections on our pick this year) I would not spend half/one third of our assets on an expiring 32-year-old.
I'd take him for McGee, Frank and three seconds
or
Powell, THJ, 2027 FRP for Rozier and Plumlee

He's having probably his best year, but he's 32 years old. Not for a 1st rounder.

Cept they threw a wrench into that by extending Maxi.
Mavs just don't know what the f they are doing...let's just be honest about it. Even an article today saying they don't know if they want to move THJ for an upgrade or cap space. Ugh...

Mavs open to trading DFS per Shams. Wow, maybe there is some hope after all. Twitter having a meltdown over the idea which is silly.
Everyone wants to blow it up because Luka needs help but won't trade DFS is why fans are often no better than the FO they hate on.

I like Dodo but you trade anyone other than Luka. DFS is best at PF and that is Wood's natural position. This roster is too thin to have a PG, two PFs (one undersized one) and no adequate center/backup PG.

Of course, the return matters, but if the (rumored) Jazz want him then there is a deal to be made for sure. They have a few desirable pieces like Vanderbilt, Sexton, Clarkson etc.

I read they want a star player in return for DFS. Cuban will probably move him for someone like Mike Conley.

Mavs Twitter is a cess pool for the most part. Dfs IS part of thr problem. 3 headed meh monster of Thj, Bullock and Dfs. People are insane.

To be fair, it can't be a seller's market, and then we get nothing in return.
Problem with the Jazz is Ainge is as shrewd as they get. BUT they do have a bunch of firsts that I'd be interested in as well.

I can't get behind the DFS slant here or elsewhere. The guy is damn good and the contract isn't bad. He's getting unfairly lumped into the shitburger defense narrative since the team is terrible at defense as a whole.
That being said, you absolutely move him if the return is good enough and makes the team better now or with flexibility in the future.
If it's the Jazz, you're probably looking at a Clarkson or Beasley return. Doubt you could get Vanderbilt thrown in, but maybe you could sweeten the pot.

And it's just simply not true. I never understood the blind love for him. He had a really good season last year but fell off more than a little this season.
It always comes down to the simple fact of not being able to rely on guys like him night in and night.
Not just dodo though. What Bullock are we getting? DFS? Maxi? None of them play consistent ball when the team needs them to be productive. It's not totally their fault with the way the team is built, but it doesn't change the fact that they just aren't talented enough to give the team what it needs.

Mavs need to lock Wood up. If they don?t, it will be bad optics for the franchise. I mean who can be better than this guy for the price? They keep searching but when they get something good, they want to be ?the smartest guy in the room? and screw it up. Just get out of the way of your own egos and do the right thing. They need to get rid of THJ and Bullock so Green and Hardy can get minutes.

I think it's reasonable to say he's an ok player in the roles he's being asked to play here and a decent player on a better team with championship aspirations. A team that needs a guy who isn't asked to do a damn thing offensively and is only has to defend SF or PFs. But damn good is not it

Damn good might be strong but he's being lumped in the same category as defensive duds and bad contracts. DFS would be a fine piece on a championship roster, let's not let our feelings on Bullock, Maxi, Powell, THJ, etc. drag him for no reason.
Again, all that being said, no 2nd thoughts if he is requested in a trade to improve the team.

Mavs have said he's available but only for a star or significant upgrade.
That is about right. We have some absolute bums out there. DFS is at least a net positive. Impacts the flow well. Salary is decent.
Upgrade if you can, but don't trade just to trade.

100%, for what they are offering Wood, they will not find that guy for less/and for the amount of production he's bringing.
I think 2 of Bullock/THJ/DFS/McGee/Bertans should be gone by the deadline.

What if Wood doesn?t want to accept our offer though? I think best we can offer is 4/$77m (someone correct me if I?m wrong), but I think he?s worth more than that based on his play here. Wood couod very well bet on himself to get a larger deal somewhere. Plus it was previously reported we o ou wanted to offer a 2 year deal I believe.

I mean if he says no to 4/77 we did all we can do at least. But if they're really going with the 2 year bs then it's on the MBT yet again.

He would have to shoot 80% from 3 for me to not want to fire him out of a cannon to another team.
