Kudos on the entirely plausible Chandler Parsons blackmail scenario Bryan Wilson. Would you rather have your reward be in +Rep or stock options in cyberdust?

The Grizzlies just played Marc Gasol 37 minutes in a game against the Spurs that had multiple lead changes, but ended up barely slipping away from them in the end... They should totally re-hire David Fizdale so they can fire him again and show everyone how a REAL team tanks!

This is another really nice draft. Too bad they couldn't have scored another 1st, though its possible I suppose they could do so in a salary dump closer at the draft. Would've loved that N.O. pick that the Bulls scored for Mirotic

Kinda hard for him to leave now that he's been banned... It's almost as if people don't like it when a stranger walks into their house and takes a steaming dump in every room.

This guy ranks the prospects on their potential, and it really does show how deep the top ten are...

The only way you get another lottery pick is giving up Smith. I'd consider it if he didn't play a crucial position and the player you replaced him with could be a primary ball handler.

Yeah, I wouldn't give up Smith to get Mikal Bridges... That's like firing your coach to maybe get a 25% chance at landing the #1 pick.

Maybe this is has something to do with why we saw Gasol play 37 minutes last night, not to mention the Mavs continually playing starters (especially after Cuban opened up his big mouth about tanking)...
@ShamsCharania: Sources: The NBA issued a warning to the Chicago Bulls this week on resting healthy players, and the team now plans to play veteran starters Robin Lopez and Justin Holiday again more extensively to close the season.

So that's what a post with facts from a source looks like.
Huh, that's pretty neat.
No way they called us and warned us though. That's a huuuuuuuge stretch. RC is just intent on making us mediocre to satisfy his ego, obviously. No source or link needed to believe me, just go look at the box scores, it's there guys. Don't ask me where, if you can't see the obvious then you aren't true mavs fans.

Would be nice for Anthony Davis to sit out the b2b with the rib injury he had a scare with last night. Pelicans are rolling though, would be nice for Sacto to pull out the win. Same with Memphis at Chicago. Orlando with a winnable game at Lakers.

Checking Tankathon after a win is always so depressing. But you cant change it. Top-5 and im all happy.
But i have the feeling that with this crazy eight-deep tanking two teams are going to jump in lottery night. Fans with the 4th or 5th worse record at the end of the season allready celebrating, fans of teams who dropped in the last 2-3 games losing their minds...and boom, they are jumping ahead and teams in front dropping two spots...

Bad night for the tank... Although if the draft were today, then positions 3-7 would be decided by coin flips.

Good luck the draft looks stronger every week.
Right now im fine with Top-6. Ayton/Porter/Doncic/JJJ/Bagley/Bamba...cant complain with anyone. I just dont want to have to "settle" in such a draft for guys like Carter/Mikal/Trae...

Those are some fine players to settle with though. I'm not in denial as I completely agree about getting in the top 5 or 6, but Carter/Mikal/Trae could easily be top five picks in nearly every other draft.
Carter is being rightfully compared to Al Horford but is a better shot blocker and can already hit threes. It's just a different era now where fundamental bigs like him aren't as valued. But would we all commit suicide if we got someone like Horford?
Mikal Bridges is similar. Remember that Kawhi Leonard was taking 15 in the draft and is the best if not second best two way player in the game. Bridges is going to be good...REALLLLY good. He will dominate advanced stats nearly ever night with elite shooting and defense.
The only reason those guys are down the list is because of the elusive superstar potential. But I bet they will be just under that threshold and any team that gets them will be extremely happy.

I wouldn't mind Mikal Bridges. Maybe he turns into poor man's Paul George. Carter should be a really good player but looks much shorter than Horford to me. Supposedly has 7'4 wingspan though. Unlikely he has the passing skills Horford does which make him so unique. Nice skill set though. 50% from 3 on 40 attempts. Someone posted rebounding and defensive #'s a while back. I'm terrible at that advanced stuff. How does Carter grade out in those areas?

Advanced stats (defensive rating and defensive win share) both show Carter Jr. as the best defender on the Duke squad. However, those kind of statistics are hard to trust with such a complete team (all the starters grade out well using advanced stats).
On Michigan State, Jaren Jackson has a superb defensive rating. Given the fact that he's coming off the bench I think it speak very highly of him.
Mikal Bridges is another guy who is killing it in advanced stats. Honestly the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of him if we're drafting 5 or later.

Yeah sure they are some nice players but in our rebuild stage we have and should look for the hightest allstar/franchise player potential.

Defintely. I've said this before but if we don't get the franchise guy in this draft we might top out as Wizards West. I think DSJ's ceiling is Wall.

Obviously some rust there, but Porter Jr has been pretty unimpressive so far. He doesn't look like he's 100% recovered. Lacks explosiveness. Needs to assert himself more, but again he hasn't played all season.

He said he was at about 65%, still working his way into form... Honestly, I hope this game hurt his stock enough for him fall to us if we end up picking outside the top-5.

I went back and looked at Mikal Bridges and Paul George and George was 20 and Bridges will be 22 as a rookie so George was almost two years younger. Think Kawhi was 21 when he came into the league if my math is correct. Looks like Otto Porter was 20. I think Porter is his floor, poor man's George his ceiling.

I'm not too worried about Mikal's age since he has an August birthday and was always the oldest kid in his class... If anything, the three years of college have allowed him to grow and mature a lot -- this guy would be one of Rick's favorites right out of the gate. Out of all the players in the top-10, Bridges is the one guy who NEVER takes a play off.
It's hard to tell if he'll ever be a star, but if you look at how much he's improved in college, it's definitely a possibility that he could keep growing exponentially to the point of becoming an All-Star one day. At worst, he'll be a top-notch 3&D swingman in the mold of pre-injury Wesley Matthews.

I agree, but I would just add I think due to his frame and length he has a higher floor than pre-injury Wes Matthews.

33 Points - 17 rebounds for Marvin Bagley tonight. Guy is a Chris Bosh clone 100% IMO.

Mavs need scoring and rebounding in the worst way -- Bagley can definitely bring that... And the more I watch Duke, the more I think Bagley's lack of defense is a product of their system, since nobody on that team seems to be able to play on that end of the floor either.

Nets at 21 wins after taking out Hornets.
Bagley looked real good again. Regardless of how the draft order works out, I can’t imagine a scenario where we miss out on Jackson, Bamba, Ayton, Porter, Bagley, Doncic, and Bridges.

Which is why, for the umpteenth time and really only for that poster who isn't here anymore, we shouldn't be freaking out. I mean, I want to watch the Mavs without having a heart attack about winning a game. It's pretty unnatural and causes unnecessary anxiety.
Bridges is going to rise up as the draft nears...I'd bet on that.

Magic-Kings tonight, one team is going home with win nr.21 and their FO in tears.
Tomorrow we match because of the stupid Grizzlies.
Small chances that the Bulls beat the Pistons. No way the Hawks beat the Pacers
