Are we prohibited from adding a "no trade" clause for him?

I could see as a player why that would be attractive - securing when/where you could be traded etc. And if it helps us get him - fine - chalk it up to the cost of business.

I am no CBA expert (speaking of that - where is David Lord?) but I think you may have to have a certain amount of tenure with one team to even be eligable for a clause such as that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that to qualify for a no-trade clause, a player has to be in the league for at least 8 years and with his current team for at least 4, though I don't think those 4 years have to be consecutive.
