Just a thought...Atlanta grabbed Dickau for a future 1st rounder. Could we not have easily done that too and possibly better equipped ourselves for an NVE deal? Did a worthy opportunity pass us by last night? I don't think anybody was expecting Dickau to drop that far.

I wasn't surprised at all to see him drop that far. The only problem is Sac probably thought it was better for them to take Atlanta's first round pick next year because Atlanta will be PISS POOR and they'll have Atlanta's pick which will be a lottery. The Mavericks first round draft pick won't be in the lottery next year.

I am sure, although not certain, that the Atlanta pick is lottery protected (at least to some degree). SAC made the move to avoid paying luxury tax.

I am not sure I even agree that Atlanta is a sure-fire lottery team. It doesn't take that much to make the playoffs in the east and they were not healthy last year.

actually the Hawks plan on making the playoffs, they have said, "if we don't make the playoffs, we will pay every season ticket holder $100"
