Default Pan's Labrynth

Just saw it. I'm really not sure what I think of it. I wanted to like this movie, and did for the most part. But walked away with the feeling like I mised something. Critics are saying that it will "change the way you view the world." I was expecting it to be like V for Vendeta. Where I left the theater with a sense of "WOW what an amazing film." But while Pan's was good it didn't have that effect. Anyone else seen it yet? What did you think?

I find it unseemly that you found "V For Vendetta" a better film than "Pan's".

"Pan's" is in my top 3 movies of last year, and is a far superior film to "V."

Like I said. Maybe I missed something. I'll admit I was choked up by the ending, but I didn't think it really lived up to all the aclaim. I liked the movie, but it didn't get me as much as V.
Also I thought V would suck, so it may have been that I was suprised that made me like it more. What did you like about Pan's. Perhaps you took something from it I've overlooked.

I saw this movie on Saturday night, definitely never seen anything quite like it... Definitely liked it... did it change the way I look at the world, no...

The main thing I was dissapointed with was I wanted more of the surreal fantasy stuff, like the great scene with the 'monster with the eyes'...

I think at this point I'd just like to hear people's analysis of the movie...

Didn't change my view of the world either, but I still really liked it. I have a hard time getting into films with subtitles (I'm a philistine, so sue me), but other than that, it was great.

Stuff like the monster with the eyes in his hands was definitely something I would've like to see more of.

It was advertised as a fairy tale for adults, and I think it pulled through in that aspect.

**SPOILER ALERT***

I enjoyed that the ending, while good in the fantasy realm, was not all perfect in the real world. Its always nice when everything doesn't work out perfectly. The audience I saw it with was very vocal, especially during some of the more gruesome scenes (cutting the cheek open, bashing in the guys face, etc) which bothered me.

I can sort of agree that I came away feeling like it was missing something, but its a very slight feeling.

a movie that changed the way I view the world? sheesh.

Oh and V for Ven was only a decent flick...

I do want to see Pan's Labrynth...not for the "message", but for the visuals...
