PGT: MAVS fall to the Lakers/Refs (I hate OJ Mayo)
Seriously, I hate him.

We might as well make this the PGT for the Lakers game.

If this is the PGT, then I must say it's encouraging to see Dirk look like vintage Dirk again.

Yeah - his movement was probably the best I've seen from him since 2011. And the little baseline pin-down curl to get him going to the basket has been really effective since the team built it in recently.

Epic choker.
Just look at his TO numbers in 4th quarters and his mistakes end of games.
For some reason Carlisle never wants to yank his ass. He feels perfectly fine yanking every other player. What makes Mayo so damn special? Chokes more frequently than anyone else.

Silly for anyone to have doubted that Dirk would return to form. What a wasted performance.
It pisses me off that Dirk comes back and has a game like this, and Mayo just disappears. I don't think any advanced stat can measure the strange anomaly that is Collison and Mayo disappearing during stretches. They both can do some really good things and then just vanish. So weird...

I'll tell you why Mayo disappears for stretches... he's got no go to move. If he's not wide open, he doesn't have that much to beat his opponent. He's not quick or fast so he can't easily go past players, and with teams actually defending him, he goes MIA.

When the color and play by play guy talk about it in terms of "being bad", you know you got hosed by the refs. So much for home court advantage when playing the Darling Lake Show.
PS: Kobe is stupid sick.

Bryant was just too good and he got help from the backcourt (read Nash).
Nowitzki needs some help like Bryant got.
But from who?
And again. Can somebody explain why do we have mike james there on the floor on the 4th..
Guy who needs a help from supernanny to grow his kidds is our brain on the flooor...

The refs did in fact cost us the game.
The two technicals, the non-call on Artest's foul on Nowitzki, and the fictional free throws for Kobe driving on Mayo. 6 free throws right there.

Rick Carlisle gets exposed this season. And it is not even funny.
His rotations are embarrassing.
This was a game where Dirk, Marion and Carter should have played 38min. Also Morrow should have been out there instead of Crowder and Mayo.
Playing Morrow in the last 4 sec (what's the f* point coach ?) reminded me of Avery Johnson, when he pulled Kidd in crunch time...
horrible coaching.

I think Carlisle is a darn good coach, but today was an example to being too committed to your rotations. I'm sure Dirk wouldn't have minded being leaned on to bring this game home.

It's now obvious why OJ was available. My low cost solution for pg was Eric Maynor but we let him get away. We could have given him a chance to get back to 100% for next year.

By the way: These games are the reason I can only smile about all people referring to Carlisle as a coach who is "not afraid to mix it up".
Collison was crap
M. James was crap
mixing it up never happened

James goes to the basket while the "fast" PG Collison stands in front of Nash and shoots his ugly jump-push-shot...

Instead of riding our lead maverick we walked in front of him holding the reins. Mike James cannot see the future hof lead mav but he was our pg in crunch time. Wtf is RC doing?

While the refs cost us that game, that missed freethrow by Dirk really, really hurt us.
Moreover, I believe we will win both against Houston, only to help LA to get that seed. Seems like my beard will grow at least until April..

Probably insignificant, but most irritating coaching move today was bringing Morrow with 4 secs left down 4 and not with 16 secs left and down 3. I mean, either he's ready and you can throw him in on a possession in which he actually could be useful or don't play him at all.

This is exactly what i am talking about. Absolutely inexcusable and right there with Avery, when he pulled Kidd.
(ps: Murphy3 gave me a negative rep for it, lol)

I don't do this often but I put this one on Carlisle for playing oj over Shawn down the stretch.
Down the stretch mayo wasn't touching the ball and can't be trusted to create.. Dirk, James, Vince were the only ones touching the ball.

Dirk and OJ are such idiots. You CANNOT EVER get teched up in the 4th quarter of a close game. Period. I don't care how many bad calls they missed. You just can't do it.

Coming into this game, Kobe had made 2 of his last 37 three point attempts. And today he decides to go 4-5 from three. That's just plain bad luck. Kobe is not a good three point shooter. You could let him shoot 5 threes in an open gym in practice, and 19 times out of 20 he won't make more than 3.

OJ did fine. In fact if he would have scored at least 8 points in the first half like he did throughout the whole game. The outcome would have been a win with less hate. He's adjusted nicely despite losing all kinds of PT with Memphis this time last season. For a player who's transitioning into a new style, franchise, and being young. He still has potential.

Maybe because the Mavs want to keep him around next season and don't want to hurt his feelings by benching him or he might leave.

Is there any way FO can buyout Wright's contract? Then look for another center out there. I wouldn't mind Curry back. Amundson is available too. At least both those guys fight inside tougher.

Are you serious? What I had a problem with on that possession is that the ball didn't move. Our only hope was a brain dead foul on a three. That doesn't happen unless you get someone contesting it.

Yeah, I'm sure that a 33% three point shooter would make 80%+ of his three pointers with regularity.
But I guess it's too "complicated" for you to understand.

Unless you've been to a shoot around with Kobe personally you're pulling numbers out of your ass.
Having watched some pre game shoot arounds before Mavs games I'm pretty sure he could make at minimum 3 out of 5 shots. These guys don't miss when just messing around.

The guys in the three point contests at the all-star game every year don't even make 80% of their shots, and they're all WAY better three point shooters than Kobe.

I didn't say he couldn't make 3 out of 5 dummy. I said that he would fail to make 4 out of 5 19 times out of 20. He is NOT a good three point shooter.
