He injected some fun energy into a very bad team. Unfortunately, he plateaued early on in his Mavs career and never really went anywhere from there.

I honestly believe the Mavs short changed him because they weren't crazy about his role or keeping him. They still extended an offer though because of that month of Yogi mania.

Loved how hard he tried. Hated watching him get mauled because of his size. Wish him all the luck against everyone but us.

Yogi is a good dude, hard-worker... Really hope he finds success in LAC.

Like a lot of fans I loved his hustle. But man he was overmatched defensively. Especially when him and JJ were in the game

Particularly when he played SF. Yes, Rick gave a a guy who is 5'10.5" without shoes minutes at the SF

Think this is 100% accurate. Dude couldn't run Rick's offense, so Rick played guys that could at the point. We were desperate for talent, so Yogi got more and more minutes at the SG (and even a few at the SF) spot/s, but it all came down to the fact that Yogi couldn't run the offense the way Rick wanted.

In Sac he can play next to Fox. Their offense is more freeform and simple so he won't stick out as much, and he can continue to play SG next to Fox. Fox's length will allow Fox to pick up the SG on defense so Yogi can defend the PG spot.

Seems like he was a bad fit here and a better fit there. Some people were saying that it was bad blood or that it was more guaranteed money, but it sounds like there was no bad blood and even SAC only offered one year guaranteed like we did. After taxes, he's actually earning a lot less in Sactown.

I really never thought we were keeping Yogi until that contract offer and acceptance came around. It's really best for everyone involved. If the Mavs wanted him, then they wouldn't have rescinded the QO. It's that simple.
