The Rangers destroyed Cahill today. Just got finished watching it. Offensive explosion for sure.

I have this kind of odd disappointment now about the "rest of the way". Watching them has been so great and it has been SO meaningful for months now... These last 7 or 8 games or whatever mean absolutely dick. I didn't even watch them today, and I felt bad about it.
I guess I'm trying to say that "I can't wait until next wednesday!"

Actually, the games quite alot.
1. The playoff roster is not set. You've got some guys in the pen and at a certain infield spot that will be battling for the final couple of playoff roster spots.
2. You need to get healthy. Francisco and Hamilton are both trying to get healthy in time for the playoffs.
3. Especially with Hamilton, he not only wants to get healthy, but he also wants to get back and play a few games before the end of the season... get his timing down.
4. I'm sure all of the regulars would like to have a few games to get the offense in a good grove going into the playoffs. The offense has struggled alot of late.. I'm sure this is something that they'd like to turn around.

I loved Michael Young's quote about not initially putting the goggles on because he wanted to feel the sting and soak it all in (paraphrasing). This is new now, but over the next few years you will feel right at home getting the alcohol tossed on you Mike.

Is there anyone here in the DFW area who would like my two tickets to the Rangers game tomorrow? It is a day game, so I can't go. And the one guy who I've been going to several games this year and who I thought for sure would be able to take them off my hands can't go either.
These tickets aren't lower level or anything. They are in section 339. They are my season mini plan seats and I'd like to see them get used if possible.

Watching the Rangers right now (last couple of days) is like watching the last 11 years of the Rangers in Sept.
Games mean nothing really, and the team is playing like it.

Rangers win on a walk-off strikeout by Nellie! hahahaha
Now that is the first time I have ever seen that. For those who missed it: The Rangers got three runs to tie the game 5-5 in the 8th because the Seattle pitcher couldn't throw strikes. He came back for the 9th inning and got the first two batters out. Moreland then walked and Cruz came up as a PH. With two strikes on him, Cruz swung and missed at a horrible pitch in the dirt that got away from the catcher. The balled bounced off the backstop to the catcher, who threw to first, and it looked like it was gonna be an out. But Smoak didn't catch the ball at first and it rolled all the way to Ichiro in right. At that point, Moreland is rounding 3rd and because Ichiro's throw was off target at home, Moreland scored for the GW run. LOL

I listened to this on the radio...meanwhile the game is recorded on the DVR at home...can't wait to get home and see what happened.
This is the wildest ending that I can recall.

I would love to see them sweep the Angels here, and go into the playoffs on a high note.

I was really hoping it was going to be the Yankees...the Rays pitching is incredible.
Regardless, it's great to see them back in the playoffs again after so long.

Very disappointed that it ended up being the Rays because of the stupid afternoon games.
I wait 11 years for Rangers playoff baseball and the first two games will be over before I leave work.
I hate you MLB.

Why not just ask whether we'll win the series or not?

Got ya. I take the over. Way over. I think the Rangers win at least 6 games in this series before it's all said and done.
I dunno what I'm gonna do about watching this. I wish I had a slingbox right about now.

The first home game is Saturday at 4pm. Sucks because I was planning on a day at the Fair.

Stream the game at work? Or be honest with the boss and just leave at lunch?

Unfortunately I can't do either. This is the first time I regret switching jobs earlier this year.
I'll probably be going into media blackout and hoping I can make it home.

I've thought about it, but I'm doing consulting now and we have a hard deadline for this client and I already have to overcome five days of vacation to meet it. I just can't justify missing another two days.
Fortunately the two guys I share an office with seemed cool with listening to it on the radio, so I'll be able to follow it live.

We have found a local sports bar with wi-fi, have moved or canceled the conflicting meetings, and that's where we'll be working Weds and Thurs afternoons.
Nothing gets in the way of Rangers playoff ball.

Luckily my job is (right now) as a substitute teacher. I don't have to work any day I don't want to. I'll be fine.

Depending on who does the game, you might be better off just listening to it on the radio anyway. Most of the TBS announcers are terrible.
