No mike James tonight? Must've been injured right? Carlisle wouldn't let him sit when he could be out there throwing the game for the mavs.

A shooting guard who can impact the game as much as he did tonight on only 14 shots, is pretty dang solid.

I agree that his game is settling in with RC and Dirk. He seems like a true Mav. Hard working, gym rat, responds well and even hungry for coaching.

Between him and Vince tonight we got alot of cheap production out of the SG position.

The Mavs are kinda bad at tanking... Not enough practice, I guess.

Yes they should look at last season's Golden State Warriors team for inspiration.

Or of course the Spurs 1997 tank job par excellence if they are feeling truly ambitious about losing. I believe this route would entail playing a 48yr.old Dominique Wilkins heavy minutes, however.

Well why do people hate him so much on here. The guy is 25 he has room to grow. He is getting better which is why he choose dallas for coaching and getting better. He could be in Phx making 9 million a year but he CHOOSE dallas. I think it's a good match but better believe he will get many looks this summer.

Honestly, I don't think many of the smart posters "hate" him.

Even someone who isn't "hot" on the OJ train can easily see all of the potential.

If he & Dirk can get some glue going between them by season's end, I see him as a Maverick.

My take on the game last night: We got really really lucky.

Mayo had an great shooting night, he could have been perfect in the first half if he didn't launch that wild ass half-hook shot after making a nice move to free space.

Roddy comes back from whatever the F happened to where he didn't play hardly in the last cpl. He played well. Steady improvement, with some set backs here and there but he's adding tools overall no doubt. I can't recall a game where Roddy and Collison played exceptionally well in the same game...if there was one I'd bet there wasn't two in a row.

We got lucky that Portland went dry from 3pt land in the second half. Didn't make one for a looong time. They missed open shots, we made shots, and a few of them were lucky and timely 3's with a low shot clock. Vince hits a tough 3 and then allows Mathews some space and he misses an open look at the tie. That was huge.

Is it racist that I get Collisson and Beaubois mixed up all the time? I mean without looking at their numbers they really do look super similar on television. Maybe I need a bigger TV. Not sure which one is better. They're almost twins in playstyle too. Though that Beaubois superman rebound was fantastic. Need more of that! Keep em both so we'll at least have some consistency at the PG spot!

Mavs won the game cause Carlisle finally didnt put stupid Lineups out there.

No Mike James
No Dojo
Limited Crowder

Getting the right guys on the floor in Crunchtime.

Could have been 5-6 wins more with those lineup management

I glad we didn't give up VC for Calderon. In an interview last night on the radio with I believe Coop, Rick was saying that VC was one of the top three players on the team this year. I tend to agree.

So ridiculous. Mavs won because they were playing a team that is about on their level.

Edit: but with a helluva lot more upside.

Team assists are one one of my favorite stats - for a number of reasons.
Mavs had 22 assists for their 16th straight game with at least 20, the longest active streak in the NBA.

Yep, said it since months. He is really playing well and i like his playmaking abilities, e.g. the P&R with Brand and the floor spaced.

I agree with VC. I had mixed feelings when we sign him but he and Marion are our best players this season. I like how he accepted that he 's not a superstar anymore and he 's coming of the bench (not like Iverson).
Sometimes he takes a lot of shots but i don't blame him because except Dirk, who 's not 100% yet, and Mayo he 's the only one who can give us consistent score.
He should be candidate for 6th man award this year and imho he should be the winner, i don't like either Jamal or JR Smith.

They are nearly the same size and complexion , #3 vs.#4.
RC should stop dogging Roddy.

In low-def I mix up Sarge and Brand and Collison and M-James. In hi-def it's way easier, but who wants to see the Mavs lose in hi-def.

The Roddy B/Collison thing happens to me even on my projector sometimes. When I have to watch firstrow I have no idea who anyone is.

It's prety easy to understand who Collison and who Roddy is.
If it is not garbage time then it's Collison who is playing.
