The first time I can remember in Roddy's career that he's gotten extended minutes and played like ass.

Mavs win, 105-99. Again, The Wizards were 0-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter...
Double figure scoring streak ends. At least five Mavs had scored in double figures in 14 consecutive games before tonight. Barea had 9 points.
Chandler loves playing Washington. He is averaging 20.5 points, 15.5 rebounds (6 offensive rebounds) while shooting 62.5% from the floor. Chandler gets his 16th double-double (Mavs now 13-3 when he grabs a double-double). Chandler scores 23 points, a new season-high.
Mavs 31-2 when they score at least 100 points.
I wonder if Josh Howard was able to "stick it" to the Mavs tonight, we'll never know.
BG is now 5-0...on your face.

A good philosophy. Serves you well. Sensible and prudent.
BTW John Wall shot 11/26 (42%) tonight. He got goin' a bit too much there at the end, but that's hardly terrible on the Mavs' part.

Terry gets a pass with his offensive game but Kidd was basically the only one getting back on defensive transition in the second half.
Dirk was terrible by his standards
Kidd was decent (defense was pretty poor)
Peja was off

roddy got 13 minutes tonight, that's not enough. He didn't shoot well but he defended, rebounded and made some nice passes -- 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block isn't bad for 13 minutes.

He wasn't having the kind of success he's accustomed to, but I liked the aggressiveness I saw from Booby tonight. He seemed like he wanted to sink his teeth into the game more than I've seen from him since he made it back.
Nice to see that Josh Howard is still a first-quarter player.
Weird night. Airballs from great shooters, free throw woes, short-on-the-iron open jumpers that usually drop. Oh well. Got the win.

Nice win! Chandler was a beast tonight (as he has been most of the season).
P.S. I can't wait for tomorrow's game. I'm watching!!! Great seats too!

I may be forgetting 1 or 2, but that Nick Young 360 is the shot of the year for me. Absolutely incredible.

It looked great but I believe he traveled on the play as his foot clearly hit the ground before the shot left his hand.

Numbers are "ok" considering we were playing the Wizards. Peja, Roddy and Dirk were completely off tonight. Especially Dirk seemed to had one of those nights where he was sort of disinterested ... slow in transition, weak fouls etc. I liked what I saw out of Peja on the defensive end though. There have been at least two situations in which he stayed in front of his man and forced a difficult shot.
Solutions for the following issues are still not in sight:
- Opponent Points in the Paint
- Opponent Offensive Rebounds
- Lose focus (even more) when leading big

I think RC is really giving the greenlight this year to Booby for him to be a scorer

Dallas is actually a ok defensive rebounding team we are just the 4rth worst in offensive rebounding percentage (14th in defensive rebounding %) coming into this game

First two are certainly concerns. The third one is a concern, but tonight I didn't really see that. 8-13 points is not a "big lead." 6-0, 8-0 runs are incredibly common in the NBA.
Personally, when I say I'm concerned about the Mavs giving up a "big lead," I mean a lead that's big enough that a run-of-the-mill NBA run by the opponent isn't going to make the game competitive again. Like when you're up 25 and suddenly it's a 4 point game. Being up by 10 or whatever is nothing in the NBA.

It was frustrating to watch us play like crap and give those guys confidence. So frustrating to watch the Wizards just run to the basket, it was a layup line at times. But we got the win, so I can't complain too much. Chandler is just a straight up beast, he was a major reason why we won. I really hope we can step up our defensive intensity though, because there are only so many games left in the season.
PS- Nick Young's 360 play was amazing, I found myself cheering for him for awhile, then I felt guilty lol. Btw Josh Howard really "stuck it" to us tonight.

I'll take it a step further. If this huge lead (over 15) happens in the first 3 quarters, there is a decent to good chance it'll evaporate or get pretty damn close to evaporating.
If you have that huge lead in the 4th quarter, those should never evaporate.

He missed a lot of shots he usually makes, so I'm not too worried. If he makes some of those shots, and still comes up with that HUGE rejection on John Wall a lot of folks would be raving right now. He'll be fine.

You gotta give Roddy that it simply wasn't his night. The signature-lob didn't work out early and he also blew a pretty easy layup in the second. Not exactly confidence builders.
I especially don't like the situation that he basically only got those 6 minutes in every half to prove himself worthy for more playing time in every single game. Thats the downside of sitting out for such a long time.

I think the thing is we lack a killer instinct at times, the Mavs had many chances in the third and at the start of the 4rth to put the game away but didn't

And yet we get the win. I guess we aren't a team that likes to blow teams out. We get up for the close games.

I think the mavs need a few more games. They've looked pretty rusty out there at times. It will be interesting to see how they play the next two.

Peja had his moments...Some good some not so bad. What he did was funnel his guy to the correct spot...he had about 3 possessions in a row there where his guy just kept trying to go baseline and he just wouldn't let him.

Tomorrow will be tough. In less than 22 hours they have to leave DC, fly to Toronto, go to the hotel, sleep, do shootaround, then play another game. That's rough.

They never do a morning shootaround leading up to the second game of a b2b.
Interesting Series History between Dallas and Toronto: Mavs 12-3 all-time at home against the Raptors, but only 7-7 all-time on the road. The teams split the season series last year with the home teams winning each game.
