Default What is wrong with Matt Carroll?

Beside his headband?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/...2uFQaqzVLuPKB4

As a Mav he shot 9-34 from the field (1-10 threes). Career high season average 12.1 points.

I just dont get it why he cant make a single three or 2 shots in a row...

Better question is "Why is Matt Carroll playing?"

After the Bobcats gave him that long contract he hasn't done anything since....the only reason he was playing in the Jazz game was because Ross got hurt.

It amazes me how much sucking one basketball player could do on the floor.

No pun intended.

Matt was personally offended when Drew called him a faggot.

I think half the points Utah scored in the 2nd quarter were by the guy Carroll was pretending to defend. I think he needs a spot on Nellie's roster. Maybe his shot will return if people stop asking him to D up.

He's not NBA material and he doesn't belong on this team and I want to puke every time I see him on the floor. That's what's wrong with him.

It really is confounding. Just two years ago, Matt Carroll was one of the better three point shooters in the NBA and a legitimate rotation player.

Now he's just awful. It's perplexing. Confidence is a crazy things sometimes I guess.

With Ross being so one dimensional, we're really short handed on offense at the wing position when Josh is not playing.

So I wonder if Carroll's non contribution is worth the extra money saved to Diop's positive contribution but higher price tag? Basically, was the trade worth it? I would rather have another defensive minded seven foot shot blocker in Diop who we could actually use than a waste of a wing player in Carroll, but then again I'm not paying the salaries.

LOL - that word seems a lot less hateful/homophobic within this context...

Could we actually use him? He was horrendous for us last year. And he's played one minute in four games (total, not per game) this season for a coach that values defense above all else.

Factor in the fact that Cubes is saving over 20 million dollars (factoring in luxury tax) and that Carroll's declining salary might actually make a trade work at some point, and it's still a no brainer.

But I do think the Mavs really thought Carroll would give them SOMETHING.

BTW, what a mess Charlotte is. Can you imagine owing your 12th man (he's their fourth center!) almost 30 million over the next four seasons?

Good points and all the reasoning still applies to the trade. I just wish we were a little bigger up front. Maybe we'll make something happen before the trade deadline.
