Is anyone following this Durant/Rappaport nonsense? This is HILARIOUS. KD has go to be the most insecure, thin-skinned NBA superstar that ever lived.

Im starting to be pissed that the Thunder traded up to grab Poku ahead of us. This kid is going to be great. Like a better Toni Kukoc at least

I've definitely been impressed. A lot of good players in that draft.

He looks legit. I thought he was like 3 years from being a contributor with that body and shooting but he is so skilled and smart.
We have had some bad luck and bad decisions with the draft. Luka/Brunson was amazing but even then we had to trade a 1st to draft Luka due to bad lottery luck.
We all know they wanted to move up for Halliburton. I wonder if they considered the same for Poku or if they just had him in a tier with Green, Saddiq Bey and others and weren’t willing to trade up knowing they’d get one from that cluster.

Anthony Davis - held out of B2Bs, injured in a game with 1-day rest
LeBron James - held out of B2B, injured with 1-day rest
Jamal Murray - held out of the first game of B2B, injured in the second game
Joel Embiid - held out of the first game of B2B, injured in the second game
This season has been brutal

But I thought the Mavs were the only team that rested their stars in B2B games?

Jokic
Zion
So this goes both ways
We will eventually see though if resting the Mavs stars will help them come post season

I actually agree with the Mavericks' policy of resting players on B2Bs (KP in particular), especially given that they are not in a position to contend for a championship.
After Durant's ruptured Achilles I think teams may have a different awareness, and are taking a longer-term view of injury recovery, in particular with what seems to be an inordinate amount of B2Bs in a COVID-compressed season.
As for the Nets "holding out" Durant, Harden, Griffin, and Aldridge:
1) Harden is 31 years old, overweight, and dealing with a pulled hamstring; he's injured, not just being held out.
2) Durant is 32 years old, and is coming of a missed season due to the ruptured Achilles, PLUS rehabbing back into game shape through COVID.
3) Griffiin is 32 years old, and experiencing ongoing issues with the knee on which he had a surgical procedure, and has alsp been rehabbing and getting into game shape through COVID.
4) Aldridge just retired with a heart issue.
None of these cases is really a comparable issue to resting otherwise healthy players.

Pelicans' Zion Williamson out indefinitely with fractured ring finger
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — New Orleans star Zion Williamson is sidelined indefinitely with a fractured left finger, a major blow to the Pelicans’ run at a Western Conference Play-In spot.
The 20-year-old forward averaged 27 points and 7.2 rebounds in 61 games and the injury comes before the Pelicans opened a five-game trip against certain or potential playoff teams. The Pelicans made the announcement Friday before they played the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia 76ers.
The Pelicans said a timetable for Williamson’s return would be determined upon further evaluation. He appeared to hurt the finger trying to grab a rebound Tuesday against Golden State.
Pelicans vice president of basketball operations David Griffin ripped the NBA and its officiating for not doing more to protect their franchise player.
“I’m really frustrated because this was avoidable,” he said. “We told the NBA through every means available to us, through sending in film, through speaking to everybody in the officials department, everybody in basketball operations, that the way they were officiating Zion was going to get him injured. Quite frankly, he’s injured now because of the open season that there’s been on Zion Williamson in the paint. He’s been absolutely mauled in the paint on a regular basis to the point other players have said to him (they will) keep doing this to you because they don’t call it.”
San Antonio’s recent five-game losing streak helped the Pelicans pull within 1 1/2 games of the final Western Conference Play-In spot with six games to go. New Orleans’ second-leading scorer Brandon Ingram was out of the lineup with a left ankle sprain. Steven Adams (toe sprain) and Josh Hart (thumb) also were set to miss Friday’s game.
New Orleans’ road trip will continue at Charlotte, Memphis, Dallas and Golden State. The Pelicans’ lone remaining home game is their season finale against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Their playoff chances look much more daunting without Williamson.
“He doesn’t complain. He doesn’t yell at officials. He doesn’t flop. He doesn’t sell calls,” coach Stan Van Gundy said. “He’s the kind of guy that should get favorable treatment because of the way he acts, but that’s not what works. What works is yelling and complaining and flopping and selling calls. He doesn’t do any of that.”

Ira Winderman: Whoa, per Celtics: This past weekend Celtics forward Jaylen Brown was diagnosed with a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist. Brown is expected to have the torn ligament surgically repaired later this week, and will be out for the remainder of the 2020-21 season. – via

Jose Juan Barea and Estudiantes have reached an agreement for the two sides to part ways according to Encestando. The former NBA champion had joined the team on January, signing a contract until the end of the season

Fortunately they didn't pay much for him. Pacers made out like bandits, trading the disruptive Oladipo for LeVert.

2 days after he bought a $7 million mansion in Miami. I think I read it’s the same muscle that he had surgery on.

Watching games on TNT just got better. Unfortunately Reggie is still there.
With the NBA playoffs days away, TNT and longtime analyst Chris Webber have reportedly parted ways.
The New York Post reports that Webber and the network agreed to a split on Thursday. The two sides did not conduct negotiations on a new contract leading up to the split, according to the report.
Webber had worked as a color commentator and occasional studio analyst at TNT since 2008. He joined the network shortly after the conclusion of his 15-season NBA career.

I kind of like Reggie. Never liked Webber as an analyst but he has gotten better. He’s still not good. He used to be terrrrible.

Webber would have been the best player-turned-analyst on Turner if he'd worked in the studio instead of calling games. He's pretty sharp and clearly admires the current crop of players, but he's too long-winded and soft-spoken for live action.
Reggie, Marv, and especially Shaq should all be canned too.

Marv was breathing heavy last night. Sounded like he had just run a marathon. He’s been off all season calling out wrong players and such. Might be time to hang it up.

I always chalked that up as Webber being relatively new but he's been doing it for some time now hasn't he? I really like him though. He really does a great job.
Shaq does suck.....but Shaq, Barkley, Kenny and Ernie is gold lol.

You know I came on here pissed about the whole Oladipo trade...still a fair trade but I really undersold Olynyk. He's turned out to be a damn good player. His skillset for that size is pretty incredible.

Westbrook not playing with the same passion/energy that you’re used to seeing from him. Tatum putting on a show.
