Yeah. I'm going to be incredibly pissed if we don't at least get radio coverage. I don't know why we wouldn't, considering 103.3's had every game, pre-season included, for as long as I can remember, but Mavs.com makes no mention of a radio broadcast.

Well I took matters into my own hands and got tickets off ebay. With a preseason game like this you can usually find great deals on the day of.

It's about time. I'll be online here for updates while watching the Kings-Portland game on tv.

A. Wright To Start?
By Mike Fisher -- DB.com
Early word from the early shootaround, from the DMNews’ Eddie Sefko: Tonight’s surprise starter at the 2 might just be. …
Antoine Wright.
Wright, the Texas A&M product considered the “bright spot of camp’’ by coach Rick Carlisle, has obviously earned rotation minutes. Wright, who came to Dallas in the Kidd trade, isn’t locked into the first-team job by any means; there will be a temptation for Carlisle to rely on a more “known quality’’ like Jason Terry and Jerry Stackhouse.
But. … we can hope, can’t we? Wright is 6-7, is athletic, is a finisher, has handles, can play a little defense and has been working on his shot. Stack and Jet off the bench would make that group special. And one or both of them might still be on the floor at game’s end.
But an injection of something different from years past at the 2? Worth a shot.
150pm oct 7 2008
Wouldn't it be nice to have a young, athletic 2 guard get significant minutes in the regular season? Someone who actually has a chance to get better?

Wright deserving significant minutes makes the Kidd trade that much better.

Might as well see what he can do right?
I'm a fan of his game and I think it can continue to get better. Let's see what he can do.
Hopefully that lead that someone gave with Direct-Tv will actually work. I'll have to see if that Washington sports channel actually works...if so, TIVO!

OK, I really feel like this should be televised on FSN. I may have to drive to Dallas to watch the game.

Thanks! So you're 7 hours late again.
That's too much for me, with probably no stream available.
Have fun watching - GO MAVS!

Directv has thier League Pass channels up now (750+), and the guide data for channel 751 has the Mavs vs Wizards. I'm a little worried though, because the number is in light blue like the LA/NY networks that I can't get due to zip code. The Rockets game is the same (I'm in Conroe), but the Kings, Pistons, Portland, etc. show up in dark blue. Mabye its blocked on LP because it will show up on CSN (642).

Wow, I have been so apathetic this off-season I didn't even realize preseason was starting (the last few seasons I was glued to my computer for every bit of player movement-training camp info). So this is a nice surprise. I hope that Carlisle will begin to show us that he can bring this team back to where it was before Avery lost the team.

Dammit, it looks like ESPN and NBA.com don't even have live game info. Wasn't it standard to at least have gamecasts for pre-season games? This sucks--I was hoping to at least check the box-score as the game went on.

I really hope Wright starts and wins the starting spot. How many damn seasons have we had a "floating starter" at the 2, 3, or 5?
I remember the start of the 2002 we had a "surprise starter" at the 3. Nellie and Donnie were watching the game from a bar because they were suspended for illegally scouting Darko Milicic (ha, ha). And Nellie made a big thing about announcing the "surprise"--"we're going to start... Najera!" Then, if memory, serves, they benched him a few games later for Griffin. I would be so happy to have a stable starting five, but I suppose that's just hard to do when you don't have five players with well-defined positions and clear-cut starting talent.

Ok, it looks like ESPN just put up a gamecast for the Toronto-Cleveland game, although it's kind of buggy. Hopefully it will get straightened out by the time the Mavs game starts.
