I'd like bibby as well. Mentioned it to Followill last night, he agreed.
But since there is already a log jam of guards, I'm not sure he can fit in unless we had made a trade to unload somebody. That or Kidd sits the rest of the season. He'll most likely go New York, Miami or Boston.
Murphy i wouldn't mind.

I think most people need to take the names that are being mentioned the most (Murphy, Bibby and Ford) off of the potentials list. If they somehow pop back up, you'll consider it but it's likely they are not options.
Kapono doesn't really make sense unless you really feel like you need to have a shooter ready as he gets splinters on the bench.

Both of those guys are not worth the pickup. Sasha hs more game than Marks and Peterson.

I'd take Sasha if no one better falls through. We know we can win if he's the starter, and we must have an alternative if we face someone Peja can't guard.
Bibby or TJ might be nice in case JJB reverts to form, or teams figure him out again.
I'm less worried about a Dirk backup, because if he isn't playing 36 minutes a night, we're toast anyway.

Though sources are downplaying a significant rebellion against Kuester, a proposal to buy out Hamilton -- who had another in a series of confrontations with Kuester recently -- will be presented to ownership before the March 1 deadline for him to be eligible for another team's playoff roster. The chances of a buyout for Hamilton, however, are "slim," a source said, given that he has two years left on his contract.
Hamilton, 33, could be a useful addition to contenders such as the Mavericks and Celtics, who both have internally discussed signing him if he were bought out. It appears that he will instead languish where he's been since Jan. 12, on the Pistons' bench and at a point of no return in a lost season.

Surprised the Bulls aren't mentioned. He could probably start there. I would believe they have the best odds of getting him.

The Los Angeles Clippers have bought out Rasual Butler, and he plans to sign with the Chicago Bulls, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.
Butler must clear waivers before he can sign with the Bulls.
Butler had the best scoring season of his career in 2009-10, averaging 11.9 points and 2.9 rebounds. This season he's averaged 5.0 points and 1.9 rebounds.
Butler is making $2.4 million in the last year of his contract.

Mavericks exploring the return of Sasha Pavlovic
With buyout season about to shut down, the Mavericks are
more interested in Sasha Pavlovic than any of the players who have been waived
or bought out by their clubs.
“We’re leaning toward bringing back Sasha,’’
owner Mark Cuban said.
The Maveircks signed the 6-7 wing player to a pair of 10-day
contracts earlier this season. The only way they could get Pavlovic would be to
sign him for the remainder of the season.
Pavlovic was solid for the Mavericks when he bridged the gap
between Caron Butler’s injury and Peja Stojakovic’s signing. He
shot 44 percent from 3-point range, starting six of the 10 games in which he
appeared for the Mavericks.
Pavlovic later signed a 10-day deal with New Orleans, but was
waived on Feb. 14.
He would know the Mavericks’ system and would add to
their passel of quality long-range shooters.
The Mavericks apparently aren’t in the running for
players like Troy Murphy or Rasual Butler, who have been bought out by their
teams and would be eligible for playoff duty because they were waived before
March 1.
Other players could be in the same situation, such as Mike
Bibby, but the Mavericks for now have their sights on Pavlovic.

Pavlovic abviously makes the most sense. He already knows the team and we need another SF. Bibby will eventually end up in Miami I guess. They need a PG and he most likely will have a decent impact there.

No problems with bringing Pavlovic back. So you can start him with Roddy and have a solid wing-defender in the lineup.

just saw a tweet that we are interested in Rasual Butler. Don't know the rest of his game but I hate when mediocre three point shooters shoot so many 3s like they are Ray Allen

Stein just tweeted that Corey Brewer is going to get bought out by NY today.
Sources say Celts, Spurs, Mavs and OKC have all registered immediate interest in Brewer, who holds obvious appeal to all as wing defender

OH, yes, yes, yes.....I wanted to send Butler's expiring for this guy. NYK didn't like his defense enough to warrant minutes. Give this guy the MLE and he will be our shut down defender at the wing spot. Fills the lane with JKidd....

Bring Brewer! Not a huge fan but i read he is a solid defender and we need for sure another wing with 6-6 or more. I dont like Stevenson or Cardinal as third SF

Brewer's strikes me as a guy we'd want to sign in part because it'd give us an opportunity to take a close look at him before free agency. If you just want somebody who's a good, safe two-way fit as insurance off the bench at SF, Sasha's probably the better choice.
