Sure. Not only the 1st goal, the whole game was awesome. When i am right, there are several El Clásicos upcoming. First will be the Copa del Rey Final on April 20th and Real will play vs. Barca again in the CL semis. Barca will beat Shaktar Donezk, i suppose.

So the semis will be

Real - Barca / Shaktar
GE - Manchester / Chelsea

Yeah, by far the most exciting game will be Chelsea - Man U.

I saw the first 30 minutes of the Barça - Shaktar game, and I was surprised Barça didn't win by more. For every EXCELLENT chance Shaktar had in those 30 minutes, I counted a Barcelona goal sooner or later. It's an old adage that we go by in Brazil: "If you don't score [on your easy opportunities]..... you'll get scored on."

I counted 4, with 3 coming from stealing the ball from Barça on their defensive end, which is nearly impossible with the number of back passes Barça makes. One of them was a 2 on 1, the other was a 3 on 2.

I don't get it. Go watch Real Madrid - Barcelona right now. That's good soccer? Sure they keep the ball 90% of the time, pass back, and back, and back. I simply cannot deal with this BS. I wouldn't be happy with my own team doing that, much less watch another do that. They have nearly 200 passes in the first 20 minutes.... and created an amazing one chance. Corinthians played this game in Brazil, and they were perhaps the most hated team in Brazil.

I have a very simple theory. They are only lauded for doing this for 2 reasons, and those are:

It's better for both teams when Barcelona gets scored on. Because once again, if you're gonna have the ball that much, do something with it. And now Barça will have to do something about it, instead of making sure they keep the ball first, second, third, fourth, and fifth, then worrying about getting a shot on goal sixth.

I don't oppose defense, what I oppose is having no objectivity, Barcelona holds the ball for 75% of the game and does nothing with it until Messi touches it. Like I mentioned earlier, with the so called 7 defenders Madrid generated more offense than Barça.

Barça had something like 200 passes in the first 30 minutes of the game, to Madrid's 70-ish. Why? They pass the ball back and forth without any of the creativity that they are so adored for. Spending 5 minutes passing the ball from midfield to your defense is not good soccer in my book.

The most ironic thing was Cruyff saying that Mourinho doesn't care about the aesthetics of the game, that all he cares about is winning titles, and don't care about making it look good (in his eyes). Yet, when Barça was losing, guess what Barça did? They started lobbing the ball to the attack, crossing the ball early, no more passing the ball back for 5 minutes at a time. How interesting that when it matters they don't play "Barça ball ."

I didn't think Özil played particularly well yesterday. He needs more consistency, he sometimes disappears from the game. Not against any specific type of opposition (not against big teams in particular, not against small teams in particular, or more defensive or offensive team in particular), but he can have absolutely stellar games and some games when I can't even figure out whether he's in the game or not.

For some reason, him and Cristiano Ronaldo aren't in tune as much as I wish they were. With both of them being playmakers, you'd think they'd understand each other well, but that's rarely the case. Might have something to do with CR9 being so selfish.

Özil does better passing the ball with attackers I think, such as Benzema and Adebayor. Di Maria can be pretty selfish at times also.

CR does create chances on his own, so i wouldn´t say it doesn´t fit. Somehow it works out, obviously. LM or CR are players for the big ones, they frankly don´t depend on others. They are the worlds pinnacle of soccer. Yesterday Real fell apart when Özil was subbed out, because he was the missing link between O and D, so not astonishing one play decided the game. From my point of view Benzema would have fit better with Özil and CR somewhere in between, but Mourinho chose to play save, because di Maria is better for the defensive play. A CR, Özil, Benzema maybe, would have been to much. All in all we saw two very, very strong teams and a very good game. Not least Mourinho made 17 titles in 8 years. He definately is a big fish in the tank.

The 3rd Real - Barça is today (tonight in Europe) in the Bernabeu. Iniesta isn't playing, but it isn't like Barça doesn't know how to play without the often-injured midfielder. Should be a good game, I can't predict it.

Great goal indeed. But Madrid had at least two shots at fouling Messi outside the penalty area. I mean ... 87th minute, probably a yellow card. I would do it.

And if I haven't stated yet: I hate Pepe, I've hated him for so long I can't remember, and I'm glad he's not gonna play the return game. Pepe is so awful in so many ways. In stark contrast to Ricardo Carvalho, who I think is a great defender.

I highly doubt Madrid can make a come back in these circumstances. They will not have enough possession to make anything happen in the 2nd game. ManU vs. Barcelona it'll be.
