There hasn?t been a single report that Cuban will offer 4/77. Think he would take it. And if he didn?t at least we can say Cuban tried.

I haven?t seen a report of us making any sort of extension offer. Curious to see if we get any news with the trade deadline quickly approaching.

Reggie is getting hit at the right time from deep. Nico better be on the phones. Hopefully Cuban doesn?t step in and veto any potential moves.

Really hope that wasn?t the end of Wood in Dallas. I have an inkling they aren?t rushing him back because of negotiations

Maybe but, This league is soft now. Guys miss games for no reason, so broken finger is a big deal when he's the second most important player. .

The Mavs have made their move.
Signed a forward to a 10 day contract.

Toronto fielding calls for OG. Also notable that he is being held out until at least Sunday with a wrist injury.

Tim MacMahon on Deandre Ayton: He?s a name that I?ve heard around the Mavericks. And again, I think that would have to be a later than right now type of situation. ? via Spotify
Tim MacMahon: If Christian Wood wants to test the market, I don?t know that he?s going to get more money on the market this summer. I talked to a lot of teams, I?ve yet to find one that?s really eager to sign up for the Christian Wood experience. ? via Spotify

Shams says the Mavs and Jazz are talking about a DFS for Beasley swap.
I'm totally open to moving DFS, but that move seems odd. Especially if we have to give up draft compensation too.

Talent and fit wise, that deal straight up isnt worth the hassle. Does the club option on Beasley for next year transfer in a potential trade?

At the same time, I'm more realistic to the reality of our roster's value. DFS is in line value-wise with someone like Beasley. And you're hoping Beasley can get back to 20 ppg Beasley.
Not my first choice, but I wouldn't hate it as long as we don't give up draft picks.
The Mavs are in a bad conundrum of desperately needing defense and rebounding whilst also needing to take the load off of Luka scoring-wise. I think the latter still matters more.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...trade-deadline
Mentioned this is the gdt
Bey and Green would be two nice young wing defenders to put around Luka moving forward

If the Knicks want a wing defender that badly give them some combo of Bull/ DFS/ pick(s) for Quickley/ Hartenstein/ Robinson.

Rumor that Gary Trent jr could be had for a protected 1st or 2 seconds. Rather have him over Beasley.

So, how about these 3 teams come together to make a deal to further each other's interests?
Brooklyn Nets Receive: Davis Bertans, Alex Caruso
Chicago Bulls Receive: Ben Simmons, Tim Hardaway Jr., Christian Wood, Josh Green, 2025 First-Round Pick (DAL), 2027 First-Round Pick (DAL)
Dallas Mavericks Receive: Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic
This trade has a lot of moving parts but each franchise could consider worth it given the price of it.
I didn't know msn.com did hypothetical trades. I would love it though but I doubt it happens.

You guys must have forgot about Chris Silva. If he can set those coveted picks people fawn over DP about, then he could see 3 or 4 mins a game!

Yeah he totally looks like he's available.
And everyone thinks he could be cheap. Wolves may look for 2-3 FRPs but I bet he could be had for THJ, Powell's expiring, and one protected FRP. Maybe even a SRP.
But the real reason is why teams don't want him and why Ryen Russillo thinks that he is the "worst player in the league that gets significant minutes".
That sounds like exactly the type of trade Cuban would drool over. As a crypto-bro he thinks he can outthink the rest of the league and getting Russell cheap would be Cuban being big-brain.
And that scares me. Wood is already that laid-back offensive guy who shoots but doesn't have the passion to drive us into the playoffs. We need to bastards with a competitive edge, because if it's only Luka, he may get two techs and have an aneurism by game 2 of the playoffs.

Bingo. Plus, Bojan and OG are gonna cost too much. I'm betting Bojan's starting price is an unprotected first and two seconds. Rumored Knicks are offering 3 firsts for OG, but I'm betting 2 is the starting price.
Nobody is crazy about getting Russell, obviously, but his game is actually what we need oddly. We need a guy that can score, on his own, off the dribble, without caring who he gets involved.
I'd look hard at getting Trent Jr first, but Russell just reeks of a Cuban move.
I've seen Seth Curry mentioned too. Not the biggest fan like some, but he can get his own shot off without needing to be spoon fed.

I'm still confused as to why Bamba isn't on the Mavs radar.
He's young and cheap in terms of trade value. A stretch big who can rim protect and he would be the best center on this team right away.
Dude just makes a ton of sense if they aren't trying to give up any 1st round picks until the summer.
Might be able to grab him and Terrence Ross or Gary Harris in a package deal.

Just say no to D?Angelo. He?s a liability when it comes to culture and defense. He?s a net negative.

Anyone remember when we wanted Dragic and we got Facu?! After we were told "we must have forgot about Frank".

I know...wondering that too.
His motor is in question like McGee and WCS but he is still young and talented and hasn?t played with much of a PG.

More convinced that Gary Trent Jr would be the most attainable target who would thrive here. They aren?t asking a crazy deal just matching salary and potentially a first
And for the love of god extend Wood.

Here is a hard dose of reality... https://twitter.com/Mavs_FFL/status/1621171737902841860
Also was reported that the Knicks were split on Reggie Bullock.
How sad that we can't even get Cam Reddish...
AND Rui is doing very well for the Lakers.
Tired of excuses. FO is inept.

Don't even want him, and why is either team re-situating for incoming trash?

Generally before trades happen, 60% are planted by teams and the other 40% are made up based on conjecture. I can't remember the last time a rumor actually came true when things were all said and done.
Now we have one week and if we don't make a move or we move in the wrong direction, I will be incredibly upset and disappointed, but crying over rumors about a trash player when the rumors are likely BS to begin with seems like a bad take.

Has nothing to do with whether I want him or not. Point is, the FO wants him and can't even get a bottom feeder trade that makes 0 difference done. So you can say, "great it won't happen" when that is a move they want.
This is Marc Stein too, not some schmo. This rumor has been circulating for a while now too and is not just out of nowhere.

The disappointment is this is the type of player the Mavs are focused on with our expirings, and they can?t even get that done. I mean Reddish from draft to now I never thought was something more than near the end of the bench player. And here Cuban is struggling to even get Reddish. Speaks volumes about who they?re looking at. Definitely not any game changers on the court.
Marc Stein doesn?t do bs rumors, you?ve been around long enough to know that.

I stand by what I said, but thanks for the lecture.
Most rumors are leaked by teams or conjecture. Stein gets his from team leaks and doesn?t make up conjecture; but what he gets is still leaked from a team and often teams do it for a reason
