A simple Dallas/Philidelphia Trade
Dallas Trades:
Antoine Walker
Tony Delk
Philidelphia Trades:
Eric Snow
Glenn Robinson
We still get Robinson's expiring, which is almost as much as Walker, and we get a veteran point guard who plays defense, in Snow, which is exactly what we could use. What is everyone's thoughts?

RE:A simple Dallas/Philidelphia Trade
If we can vacation Robinson in Hawaii with no chance that he will be a negative influence on the other players then I would do it in a heartbeat. Snow isnt great but he is a veteran.
Delk aint no point guard, and even when he gets his shot back he wont be able to teach Harris a thing.

If we could insert Finley instead of Walker I'd do it. Next year we would have 34 million off the books.

RE:A simple Dallas/Philidelphia Trade
The Good:
Robinson is a better shooter, 45 vs. 42 FG%, 83 vs. 55 FT%, 34 vs 27 3P%. <-----2003 #'s
Gets to the FT line a lot.
Eric Snow is a very good assist man, always among the leagues best in assist categories.
The Bad:
Glenn Robinson missed half of last season and had elbow surgery in March.
Does not rebound or pass as well as Walker, with more TO's.
Glenn is 31, Walker is 27.
Eric Snow is 31, still has 5 years left on his contract.
SLU's
Dallas -
Snow/Harris
Daniels/Howard
Finley/Robinson
Nowitzki/Fortson
Bradley/Laettner
Stackhouse would be shopped everywhere for a decent big (K. Thomas)
76ers -
McKie/Green
Iverson/Buckner
Igoudala/Salmons
Walker/Thomas
Dalembert/Coleman

Although, I forgot to mention, we really only would do this deal if we felt desperate for a veteran point guard.

If we wanted a veteran point guard with 5 years on contract we should have paid Nash.

If there won't be a better deal on the table i would do it.
Snow can give us Defense an good Passing from the PG Position.
I realy doubt we can start the season without a veteran or proofen PG...

I like the deal a lot. Snow is a good veteran point and while he has 5 years left, the salary is reasonable ($4.6M, 5.4M, 6.0M, 6.7M, and 7.3M) so we can move him out in a couple of years when Harris is ready to carry the team.
But Robinson is a PURE expiring contract - nobody is going to want him. Walker does have SOME value as a player - I don't think Robinson has any value to any team.

Robinson does have value. In some aspects more than Walker. Robinson just needs to realize that he is a MLE type 6th man now. Robinson has game and can score on anyone. He just has defense worse than Jamison. He would have been a Great fit for Detroit or Indiana who needed a person off the bench for instant offense, but played good enough defense already.
Houston should try to get him now, if they get Barry for the point guard. Barry, TMac, Big Dog, Juwan and Yao could be a very formitable force.
As it sits, they will be good, but IMO, Big Dog is a better scorer than Jim Jackson. And if you were to bring him off the bench for his offense only, when TMac needs a break.........................

You know dalmations,
I think walk should've realized a while ago that he is nothing more than a GOOD Rebounder and Above-average passer who can score OCCASIONALLY.

You're right MT. He'd be much more valuable to any team as a role-player used in certain situations rather than the fulcrum of the team's offensive talent... maybe you should consider changing your user name sometime soon...

Hmm.... How about Employee#8? That sounds more like a RolePlayer, doesn't it?
