Well crap. Evant, Mills County, Star.....Tornado warning. HUGE Hail to baseball sized going on right now.

They are tracking right over my house. Great.

Central Texas is screwed tonight. The storms are intensifying and the winds are at 75mph+ right now and we have had 2-3 tornados already.

Hamilton is just about to get nailed. Gatesville, Waco etc right in the path.

Hopefully this question won't seem too stupid seeing as though the farthest west i've been is Charlotte, NC.

Which gets the worse weather, States on the Atlantic coast or States around the Gulf?

I ain't no meteorologist, but it's gotta be texas.

The sky has exploded each night for the past week... but that's just routine for May.

In my 26 years I've personally experienced about 4 "100-year-hail-storms" (three of those in Arl, one in Aus). I've been through a Lubbock dust storm, a Houston monsoon (TS Alison), a New Braunfels flash-flooding, and about one city-crippling ice/sleet/freezing rain event per winter season.

I doubt my experiences are really all that unique. Most texans know to expect the unexpected when it comes to weather.

Gulf Coast. We get it all. Hurricanes, tornados, brutal lightning storms, winter storms, everything.

During my limited time in North Carolina we didn't get much that competed with the summer storms of Texas. Outside of winter storms, I am willing to bet that Florida can make a claim to this too.

While everyones been glued to the tele, just a note that parts of northern Collin County(where i reside, county right above Dallas) has been creamed by a large tornado. Many homes completely leveled. Several injuries. No reports of any deaths but they are having trouble reaching places because of the damage. And obviously no power.

Granted, the last couple years, NC's lucked out on hurricanes and really bad summer weather, but in the mid-late 90s, we had our fair share. But NC always gets really bad winter storms. I believe last winter was the only year my power didn't go down due to the weather. And our lightning storms aren't too bad. We get them all in long spurts. Like last week i think it was lightning for 4-5 days straight.

They had a pic of it on channel 4 news this morning, fairly nice sized. Looked like a good strong F3. That is mobile home central up there too.

National weather service is now calling it an F4, possible F5. Havent seen an F5 tornado in texas in 7 years(Jarrel).

And the offical deathtole is at 3, not 4. Bit better news.
