Parsons is good when he attacks the rim. I've always said that. He needs to stick to that instead of his flat 3point shots. PARSONS for 3. 30 points so far. Wow

Good decision by Harris to take it himself and not dish it to Matthews.

He was fantastic in this game.

Let's hope Parsons can bottle some of tonight and continue forward with solid contributions. He doesn't have to duplicate tonight's performance every game to be loved, just don't disappear on us for several games at a time.

When RC finally took CV3 out at the end I believe it was a 32-11 run by Mavs?

If only Powell could put CV on the bench.

I'm not saying I disagree with it. I actually noticed his bad 3PT% somewhere in December. He is driving to the basket quite freely though.
I'm all for giving Powell more minutes, I just have no idea why he isn't getting any. Parsons does well with McGee and Powell. So do Harris and JJ. I guess one part of it is scouting - opposing teams will guard CV regardless of his bad hit ratio.

Was hoping for Powell to be more of a factor with Dirk out.
He seems to be lost.

Yeah, Powell has been kind of a mess ever since McGee got healthy... I was also hoping he'd find his groove with Dirk out, but he couldn't stay on the floor last night.

Beginning to wonder if he is or will be shopped before the TDL. He might be one of those who would cost us too much in the off season and get away for nothing like Aminu.
Wouldn't mind landing Gibson somehow though because I think getting Dirk some backup help is becoming a primary need.
Wonder what it would take to get Gibson?
Markeif Morris might be another possibility and maybe even a better fit in our system.

They discussed Darell Arthur on Mavsmoneyball. Jeremy Evans/Dwight Powell for Arthur works. Seems like Denver wants to move Hickson though, and I have no interest in him being a Mav.

I wouldn't bite on Morris. Too much Odom factor for me.
Also, Powell is getting so low minutes and production that it's hard to believe anyone is going to really pay him in the summer. Aminu contract is the real max he could hope for but I doubt even in that since he is far from being a starter.

But if Rick won't play Powell I'm not sure if he is worth bringing back for anything. I'm guessing since he can't spread the floor like CV and Dirk and isn't used as backup center that Rick has no use for him other than maybe an energy guy. Might as well get something for him.
Do agree with you on Morris but he does fit our system.

Maybe Rick's orders are to drive down Powell's value?

I don't think it's orders as much as it is preference.
I honestly don't think RC has any use for a PF who can't shoot 3pters well. He seems to want one guy cleaning up the boards and play interior defense with 4 shooters on the floor. With healthy Zaza and McGee that doesn't leave much for Powell. It's obvious Rick would rather move Parsons to the 4 or play CV than play Powell. Aminu only started getting good PT last season when he started hitting 3pters somewhat consistently.
I'm sure if we do bring Powell back that he will be shooting 1,000 3pters a day through the summer. There's a reason he was jacking up a ton of 3pters in the Summer league last season, that's what Rick seems to want out of his PFs. Powell seems to be more comfortable much closer to the rim right now so he is not as useful in Rick's system.
Just my take on the situation.
