Colorado Movie Theater Massacre
At the Dark Knight Rises Premiere, I am sure everyone has heard about it now.
What do you guys think? A heated debate on gun laws is no doubt imminent after this massacre.

I don't know how gun laws are going to help all that much. There are tens of millions of guns in the US. So, all of these guns will just disappear because of new laws? If someone wants a gun to do something like this, guns will be available.. they'll be available for hundreds of years even if no more were sold starting right now.
Murder rates were significantly down in the US as of 2010... the lowest since the 60's. I know stats don't mean much in a time like this,.. and one murder is too many in my book. But, I just don't know what the answer is.

I think he was trying to follow your drunk driving series from another thread; another comedy goldmine.

I guess if you're going to dress up as Batman to go the movie, don't forget to use real Kevlar

It's a shame there weren't ten people in the theater with concealed weapons of their own.

Good lord, how is it even possible to legally obtain an assault weapon?

What if you're being assaulted by a herd of Nazi's? An assault weapon would be awesome to have in that scenario. Otherwise, not so sure..

I mean, I get that if you're insane enough that an assault weapon will be easy to come by. But jeez, this country has some serious issues with shootings...especially at colleges.

Right! I have absolutely no idea how owning a weapon like that is ever legal. There's no logical explanation as to why someone in the private sector would ever need to own such a powerful gun.

I know he bought it legally... is it possible to legally own a gun and not have a license for it? If so is it mostly semantics or are there frequent cases where someone can buy one but not get a license?

Surely they got refunds... I feel a bit bad for even thinking about money..but they have to be refunded, don't they?
I lived in the town just south of Aurora for awhile about a decade ago. I never cared for Aurora much.. I know one of my first days in town, a Broncos' player was shot in Aurora in front of an IHOP or something. Aurora was one place that I did not care to end up at all for any reason..
