Malone to make decision by Thursday

I just saw on Sportscenter that Karl Malone said he will make a decision on where he's gonna play by Thursday. I haven't heard of many other teams courting him except for the Lakers so i'm guessing him with the Lakers is a done deal. Payton and Malone to the Lakers, who woulda thought that up in the beginning of this free agent period?
