Only half a Mavs question ... contract issues.
You often hear when reading about suspensions ...
"Suspended 1 (2, 3, 4...) games withou pay" which is calculated by year salary / number of games. Now if you take into account that this is based on an 82 games season, do the players receive additional payment for the Playoff Games, or are they playing those virtually "for free"?

Playoff games are covered by a seperate pool of money contributed by the NBA. It is a VERY small amount of money (10K per series per player or so) and every player who plays in the series gets an equal amount of money. I think the money per series escalates as you advance higher in the playoffs.
Back to the original question - I believe all suspensions cost regular season game checks. If a player is suspended in the playoffs for a game, he loses a game check next year. |
