Thanks Dirk and congrats.
If I heard it right, the last Triple Double was four years ago!

I wanna see many many more, even in the playoffs.
But he had a great line all around, 29 points on efficient shooting including the clutch baskets. Great stuff from the MAN.

At least that monkey is finally off of his back. He could have had a couple last year (IMO) but he got pulled a couple of times when his assists were right there on the brink.

Well, Dirk would be the first to say that team records are more important than personal ones... As long as his team wins, I doubt he really cares about a triple-double...

I've been waiting for the Dirk triple-double for ages! I get psyched every time he has 5 assists at the half. Fun stuff.

Great game Dirk. This was a Superstar performance, and he was very agressive tonight. We need you like this for the rest of the season, and we have a great shot at winning a title.

nah he'll be back ragging on dirk because he doesn't get 'em every night. Even the great timmah and snack has only had two.
So he continues to move up that HOF ladder.

Post-Game: Nowitzki's First Career Triple-Double
Date Posted: 2/7/2008 12:31:00 AM By: Bill Ingram
Things got heated at the end of this one. A game that probably shouldn't have been decided in the final minute was - and tempers were a little frayed before all was said and done. Brandon Bass was assigned to stop Charlie Villanueva, and did such a good job that Villanueva actually threw his gum and then his head band at Bass, earning an ejection.
But the game was decided by then, thanks largely to Dirk Nowitzki's huge fourth quarter. Nowitzki dropped his first triple-double of his career on the unsuspecting Bucks, who saw him passing, drilling shots, and coming up with big rebounds but could do nothing to stop him. Dirk finished with 29 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds to lead the Mavs to a 107-96 win.
Avery Johnson said this is exactly what he wants to see from Dirk, who was passing too much early in the season, but is starting to find the balance between looking for his own shot and looking for his teammates. Avery also said he was pleased with the way JJ Barea got the offense going in the first quarter and that he's going to continue to start him until Devin Harris returns from his ankle injury.
Players and coaches alike praised the defensive work of Devean George, who was largely responsible for putting a halt to what could have been a career night for Mo Williams. The Bucks' point guard scored 28 points in the first half, but just 8 in the second as George worked him over defensively.

I've heard mixed reports on this. Some said it was Antawn, some said Antoine. I'm too lazy to go look it up.
Considering how much I hate 'Toine, i hope it was 'Tawn.

only took him 729 games. Question is, will Dirk get to the next triple-double 729 games from now and will he be in a Mavs uniform?

Here it is:
Quote:
• The last Maverick to reach a triple-double was Antoine Walker vs. PHI (1/14/04). He had 11 points, 17 rebounds, 13 assists.

If I remember correctly, Toine had back to back triple doubles. Without looking, I think the other one was against the Clippers...but I could be wrong.
Moving on now.....a big congratulations to Dirk on his first triple-double. He's a joy to watch.

Seemed like he was looking for teammates the whole game until winning time. Then he took all the shots.

It was long overdue, Dirks passing skills are severely underrated. I'm surprised that it didn't come sooner but now that it has... go get another one.
