The ironic part is that the attendance rules were passed by Texas Republicans in strict accordance to Bush's "No Child Left Behind Act" - those damn liberals!

I went to my daughter's school last week, and all of the first graders were running around outside screaming their heads off, like a bunch of kids or something.

jeez, i wish they would just grow up.

Isn't EVERY post of yours a "rant to blow off some steam"?

You need to settle down, James from Rowlett - no need to get worked up like this at 40 years of age... Go spend some more money on your American Express card, cruise around in your 2001 Spyder or "blow off some steam" in your blog...

Soooo after eight years of renting, never late on rent, you suddenly decide that "3 people" living in your 3-bedroom 2 bath house is "too many living there", and therefore its MY fault that the plumbing backs up routinely once a year and that I need to pay for it myself?

Screw you lady. You can take your old, cheaply built, piece of crap house and shove it straight up your ass.

I just heard someone down the hall yell at someone else "Hey, what you eatin on today?"

And they didn't mean to ask "on what surface will you be eating?" No, the "on" seems to have been erroneously thrown in. When did the English language become such an inconvenience for everyone?

I should go to sleep now. And ignoring the obvious facts, such as: I haven't been able to go to sleep before 12:30am since the year 1999, I find the events of tomorrow more pressing. It's the Friday before a three day weekend. The warehouse connected to my building (and running my programs) will run until lunch, most probably. Then they'll shut down for the weekend. My boss won't be there. His admin won't be at her desk. The other supervisors will likely make an appearance and then bail.

It's all a show, basically, for corporate.

So why, oh why, do I have to get up and go into the office tomorrow?

Mini-Rant # 1

People who try to use their religion to elevate themselves above others are pathetic. (hint: if you've ever condescendingly told someone "I'll pray for you", this probably includes you).

Mini-Rant # 2

Everyone involved in the "Cash Flow Note" infomercial should be taken behind a woodshed and beaten to a bloody pulp.

I hope I didn't offend anyone, but those two things needed to be said.

Oil was $150 a barrel, gas was $4

Oil is now $60something a barrel and gas is $2.35?

I will never get it.

the Ignore feature is great as it keeps certain members from becoming a negative combustable mix...but when some members become moderators and are exempt from being ignored, they become abusive and over stepped their role as a moderator...it's kinda like a cop who loses his/her cool. They are both rather pathetic.

Anyone else think this guy is a f_cking douchebag?

(seriously - if all he's going to contribute is constant bitching about the members of this board, then someone should just ban him...)

You know what kills me? Being a moderator and not being able to ignore people that fluff on with insignificant crap all the time.

That is rather annoying. But you have to carry on. I would give you the same suggestion. Just carry on.

You know what kills me? Knowing that posters like Silk and BigD were on so many ignore lists that no one knew what the hell half my jokes were about. Comedic genius wasted. I should have a 200 trillion rep points right now.

Don't laugh....but apparently there is a difference between DVD-RW and DVD+RW's

WTF

I bought some new ones (I frequently burn .avi files to the RW's and play them on my upconverter DVD player that plays divx files on the HDTV downstairs) and they refused to work no matter what. I eventually came to realize that the new ones were DVD+RW and the old ones are DVD-RW. Dumb luck allowed me to buy DVD-RW's for years and not even realize my near mistake.

Great.

Why don't we just hand the world series to the Yankees and call it a year.

F*CKING TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT.

If a person is going to their respective seat in the movie theater, do me a favor and get up. It's dark and I cannot take responsibility for stepping on your feet if you just sit there rudely immobile.

And if you have any problems with one stepping on your self-entitled, "I-don't-move-for-no-one, nuh-huh!" girlfriend's toes, I don't wanna hear it. Talk to my fist, a**hole. Or keep your big mouth shut.

I recently had some stuff stolen from me, and so I'm undergoing a similar process - however, the .avi files that I burn onto my DVD's, while they work on the TV, don't fill up anywhere near the whole screen (basically there are sizable letterboxes on the SIDES of the screen and massive ones on the top and bottom). Basically, the frame-size of the .avi is being translated directly on the screen, it feels, while I'd like it to be similar to an actual DVD. Do you have this same issue? If not, what program are you using to burn?

In a small rant, I think I'm going to be unemployed for the rest of my life. There is no job out there for me. Graduate school? I'd own graduate school just like I've owned every other non-practical thing I've done. But what for? What will that really get a humanities student? Why the hell am I even in school? It's not like there are any good jobs for freaking history students. Sigh.

So that was you who stepped on my foot!

Oh wait, you said girlfriend's toes.

When you let the every-day "fans" decide things..

like in the MTV Movie awards... "Twilight" sweeps all the major awards. Good job America .. or rather... crazy little girls.

WE ALREADY KNOW GM IS GOING BANKRUPT. IT WAS ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY. THERE'S NO NEED TO INTERRUPT PROGRAMMING - THIS CAN BE COVERED IN THE REGULAR DAMN NEWS.

We interrupt this rant for a breaking announcement that GM is going bankrupt.

We've got 4 cars...Dodge, Chevrolet, Jeep and Toyota...no brand loyalty here, other than saying NO to FORD!!! I've gone through Fords, but they seem to breakdown quicker than any other car I've ever owned.

We interupt this rant to remind all that our tax dollars are going to bail out mismanaged companies, rather than letting natural consequences do their work...dang I hate these bailouts, rescue millionaires at the expense of future middle and lower class wage earners.

What's the harm in letting these companies go under? (Don't answer that question, it's random rant thought...if you HAVE to answer, then please place your answer in the approporiate political thread)

I've been sitting here for 8 hours and (some how) no one has said more than 4 words to me all day.

Then the Joe Nieuwendyk press conference comes on, and all hell breaks loose.

Thank you, world. Thanks a lot.

The concept of Public Transit is great, however the execution of public tranist in these parts SUCKS!!!

When we had ONE car, we were averaging about 50,000 miles per year getting everyone where they needed/wanted to go. The wear and tear on the car was one thing, the wear and tear on my wife and I as personal drivers was worse.

Now we have peace of mind and we put less miles combined on the cars as we are not going back and forth, back and forth, etc.

3 of the cars are paid for...I keep trying to get the other one paid off, but other bills keep catching my attention so I'm stuck to my monthly minimum.

If I can at all help it, I will NEVER buy another car on Credit again...it's Cash only or no car!!!

Hey lady, just because you're a supervisor, it doesn't mean that you're my supervisor. So can it and don't get bitchy with me.
