If the Mavs had traded for TMac....
instead of the Rockets. (As was widely speculated...)
Where would we be now? Lets say that we signed and traded Nash and Finley TMac and we trumped the Magic offer of Fracnshise and Mobley, and we were rolling with a lineup of Harris, TMac, Quis, Dirk and Damp. Two Questions... 1) Would we be better off? and... 2) Who would be the #1 option, and the best player on the team?

Agreed. Pesonal isn't everything. Some argued that the Rockets were the 2nd best team this year behind the Spurs. They would be the next Shaq and Kobe. This team would be a complete mess. No point guard and we would have to watch T-Mac play one on one all day while Dirk averages 16 points a game ono 12 shots lol. Every team T-Mac plays for sucks and that trend wouldn't end if he would've played for us.

I am extremely puzzled by T-Mac's inability to make a team better. With Yao and T-Mac on the same team, you would expect both to average at least 20+ points, but T-Mac's average has come DOWN and Yao is still struggling mightily with his game. What is up with Tracy?? No one's denying this guy has crazy talent, but it's a real freakin' head scratcher to figure out why he's sucking it up so bad, especially now that he finally has a big man? Maybe it's just a chemistry issue and they'll get better, but we'll see.
I think our line up would have been pretty damn bad, two elite scorers don't mix well. Especially when we don't have someone who is a full-time distributor. We'd be in the playoffs but then we'd have a couple of off nights and be watching everyone else on ESPN. |
