What adversity? You just quit, plain and simple. I see no diversity in that. You decided to take the rest of the season off and didn't want to play.

Fuck Rondo. That scrub is delusional, he thinks he's better than he actually is. I cannot figure out why the Kings went to get him when they already had a quality starter and a good teammate in Darren Collison. Now Rondo will be on the Kings pouting, bitching, and holding stupid grudges for petty shit. Just wait till Boogie yells at him for missing a defensive assignment or something of that nature. The chemistry will immediately go down the drain. Rondo is the type of player that never wants to be held accountable for anything, in his mind it's always someone else's fault. Fucking clown. I hope he gets booed every single time he touches the ball in the AAC. Dude has been in the league for a decade and still can't hit a jumpshot or a freethrow. Pure Trash.

Yep. What Jordan did was immature and disrespectful, but he was never a Mav. Rondo deliberately destroyed the team during the playoffs against a hated rival. He is going to love playing for George Karl...a guy who is ten times the control freak that Rick is.

Maybe the adversity he is referring to is that he finally realized he is a real nut case.

Vince McMahon is probably looking at the Kings' Roster and licking his chops. I can already see it now: Triple threat match - Rajon Rondo vs DeMarcus Cousins vs George Karl.

The real insult is that the Celts got two rotation players and a first round draft choice for that quitting sob.

BTW Who's in charge of these thread titles? LOL Bottom Bytch actually means she's the top bytch in a pimp's hierarchy. Not only is DeAndrea Jordan not bottom bytch material, she's not even in the stable. #goodriddance

This probably depends on who you're asking, but let's not overthink this with pimp politics and gay role assignments. Paul, Blake, and Doc tell Deandre when he's allowed to shoot, and that's the way he wants it.

Everyone says he is a 3rd option on the Clips but in reality isn't he actually going to be the 5th option this season?

1. Paul
2. Griffin
3. Reddick
4. Pierce
5.

At least last season he was probably 4th in front of Barnes.
I'm trying to figure out what their selling point was to him and how stupid he had to have been to swallow the bait hook line and sinker.

Thank God we dodged that bullet.

Some people love the idea of becoming a superstar, but when the stage is set and they have to walk out on it, it's overwhelming. It shows his maturity at this stage. I guess it's not wrong to want to be the piece he will be in LA, feeding off of other players scraps and being pigeon holed or typecast as the scraps guy, but it's the way he handled the situation that will take a long time for him to be seen differently. It's unfortunate that with his raw ability that he is the type when the door opens and opportunity awaits to be bigger than the moment he can't walk thru it, those moments are too big for him, and it will haunt him for a while. Proof is at the free throw line.

They convinced him to be a bottom bitch for life. He knew deep down he couldn't handle the pressure of being number 1 option

Ya'll do know that the term bottom bitch is a term of respect, right?

Bottom Bitch Definition – Your bottom bitch is your main bitch. A bottom bitch has more responsibilities than other bitches in the stable. A bottom bitch will help recruit new bitches for her pimp, keep current bitches in check, when the pimp is not around the bottom bitch will take an unofficial leadership role with other bitches and the bottom bitch will help train new bitches. Pimps are often more loyal to their bottom bitch than any other bitch. Being the bottom bitch is a priveledge and affords an amount of respect to the bottom bitch that the other bitches kind of envy and can sometimes be jealous of.

He doesn't deserve the title

I just don't get the Kings paying Rondo $9.5MM when he would have been available for the minimum in about a month. What other team wants that cancer?

There are two meanings. In this case, deandre is not a girl/prostitute. He's still a guy.

Bottom Bitch:
The person in a homosexual relationship that gets fuc kd; usually is quite queenish hence the title of "bitch."

Kings owner has no idea what he's doing. Rondo will ruin the Kings spacing and negate any advantage they have on the fast break with their athletic wings. They should've stuck with Collison.

So with Josh Smith signing with the Clips does that mean DJ is now above only Cole Aldrich on the pecking order in terms of shots taken? Because I can see CP3, BG, Pierce, Reddick, Crawford, Rivers, Stephenson, Smith all having larger roles in the offense than DJ. Rivers case may be less shots but significantly less mins so I'm sure when he is on the court it's bombs away.

I know its for the vet minimum, but how do the Clippers keep signing players? I thought they were in salary cap hell which is why them originally losing out on DJ was such a big deal because they couldn't afford to sign anyone.

McMahon with more on the Deandre situation.

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=13269287

I haven't listened but a poster on Scout gives a summary. I thought this part was interesting.

"The Mavs' whole pitch was that they would turn DeAndre into a franchise player, the best center in the league, an MVP candidate, a perennial All-Star. When DeAndre got to Houston, John Lucas started talking to him about what that would mean, in practical terms -- that he would be the focus of the opponents' defensive efforts, that he would have to step up his game at every level, and that would mean learning new skills, and putting in a lot of work.

To add fuel to the fire, Mark went on the radio in Dallas and talked about DeAndre being the face of the franchise, Shaq-like, a 20-and-20 guy, etc. The national press reacted to that story, in large part, with ridicule. DeAndre was hearing about that interview and reading the reactions to it, and ultimately decided that being a significant piece, in a role that he was comfortable filling, on a team capable of contending now sounded pretty good after all. In retrospect, the interview may well have really hurt the Mavericks."

@FJ: Yeah. I've wondered whether the Mavs (Cuban) totally misread Jordan's needs.

Sounds like Cuban was all BRAND!-BRAND!-BRAND!, when really what Jordan wanted was a little love from his teammates and the organization.

People who are angry will interpret that as him being 'weak' and not ready for his 'turn to burn'.

But it seems equally plausible that Jordan is just extremely emotionally immature. In fact, that seems like the more plausible interpretation given the way everything played out.

Oh waa...Cuban thought Jordan could be great and a franchise player. Of course Cuban is going to build up grabbing a big free agent. Perhaps his tact was off at worst, but Jordan is a mental midget. He isn't a franchise player and proved it. Cuban was right to do that so we can all dodge the bullet. This idea that Cuban didn't give him real "love" is total bs.

I don't think Cuban COULD have given Jordan what he needed. Jordan was only going to get that from the Clippers.

But I think Cuban misread that, and 'misoverestimated' his sales ability. When you don't have the product, the pitch had better be perfect.

Did anyone in the world believe Jordan had Shaq's ability? Seven years a pro and his arsenal is lobs and dunks. Biggest giveaway of his mental weakness is that 7 years in, he can't hit 40% of his FTs. And he becomes a liablity because of it. And that was there for the whole world to see, right along with that zero-IQ stare.

Cuban gave Jordan want he supposedly wanted. You can't fault the owner of a franchise for catering to a FA's wants and needs. Jordan just decided he didn't want that AFTER he had committed to Dallas. If Jordan was concerned, then he could have called Cuban and said "hey man, you're putting a lot of pressure on me to live up to Shaq...maybe cool it a bit?"...and I guarantee you Cuban would have. Deandre Jordan knows who Mark Cuban is. This idea that Cuban is somehow to blame for this is absolutely ridiculous in every sense of the word.

I just feel like Cuban reflects what the fans expect. Dallas fans expect a winner, and Cuban was going to give a max contract to the guy to steer us in the winning direction. If he couldn't man up to it, then that is 110% on him. But good luck with that pressure thing since you just got embarrassed in 7 games by the Rockets after being up 3-1.

I'm actually NOT blaming Cuban. More like the opposite.

When it comes down to it, I don't think there was anything Cuban could've said that would've been what Jordan really WANTED to hear. Jordan wanted to be respected or at least wanted by his Clippers teammates. There's no way Cuban could offer that.

If Cuban made a mistake it was in misreading what Jordan wanted, misreading what type of player Jordan was prepared to be, and overestimating his own (Cuban's) ability to realize the intersection of those two things.

Cuban's failure is having to resort to Plan Z instead of having a Plan B.

How are you misreading what a player is telling you he wants? Did Cuban build up this fake fantasy for Jordan or did Jordan build up this fake fantasy to Cuban? Pretty sure reports were consistent with Jordan wanting a bigger role.

I know you aren't technically blaming Cuban, but there is always a woulda, coulda, shoulda when things don't go your way. Thing is, the only thing we know for sure is that Jordan isn't a franchise player.

Whoever is to blame, the one thing that is perfectly clear is that Jordan just plain could not handle the pressure of being "franchise player"- which, let's be honest, he never was to begin with and never will be. His cowardice and lack of maturity is outright stunning. At this point, I'm firmly in the "we dodged a bullet" camp. Having this guy on a max deal would inevitably have bitten us in the ass, I think. I just wish now that we had never made the offer in the first place.

OK, I've got a question if we can all agree that we "dodged another bullet". We dodged the original DWill bullet in giving him max money, then we dodged a bullet in not getting DH who still has not been healthy or willing to be serious long enough to win in the post season, and lastly we just dodged the DJ-immaturity bullet. Given those that we dodged and also the ones that actually hit us (Rondo, Odom, etc.), what is it really going to take find That Guy? Does That Guy exist anymore outside of Lebron and Anthony Davis? I'm just not seeing player now that are true franchise players like we have historically. Am I missing something?

Yeah, that was more than question.

Its like this....your sexy girlfriend was being a bitch to you so you left her for someone who satisfied your needs at the time but then she came back to you on her hands and knees begging for forgiveness and wanted you to come back to her so you dumped the new girl who wasn't quite as sexy and went back to her.

Yeah, that was more than question.
When you perpetually draft in the 18-28 range, have no valuable trade assets, and no young stars or superstars, you're only going to be able to pick up other teams' scraps or damaged (mentally or physically) goods. No young healthy star in his right mind would come to this situation unless he is forced via trade or drafted. And no GM with half a brain would trade away a young healthy star that has his shit together upstairs.

Until we lock down a star PG or Center I don't see anyone of any significance coming here in free agency.

What would it take for us to sweep the Clippers next (Regular) season?

Well-timed injuries for Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan.

And even then, their bench players would probably step up and play way outside of themselves for that one game.
