Hmm. The reduced budget concerns me.
I wish they'd move it to a better slot. Give it a freaking chance.
Oh and Murph and Mary, House was utter genius.

slots are tough now on NBC. It goes against Dancing with the stars, but would you rather it go against idol? Cause it won't be moved to Thursday, unless they go Chuck, then Office/30 Rock (but i don't think that will happen).
I love the show, but i do feel that in the middle of the season, the plot lines got a little rehashed. Maybe having 13 will allow for a good, solid 13 episodes.

I don't know when they're releasing the schedule...but I would guess that Chuck will be a January/February start, and they'll slide it in place of whatever fails miserably in the Fall. I have heard they want to get it away from Mondays, so we'll see.
In all likelihood, this is just a concession from the network to the fans...they'll put it on Friday, they'll run 13 more episodes out there, and that will be it. Which will suck. But for a series born out of the months of the writers strike, 3 seasons was pretty darn good.

Scrubs renewed?
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...4b89a4b157dea2
looks like they may take it in a different direction, maybe focusing on the new interns? not sure how i feel about this. I liked "jo", but didn't really care for any of the other interns.
I'm all for seeing Dr. Cox on my TV again (one of my favorite characters ever)... but i honestly don't know what to think about this...

I'm pretty sure the focus will go on the interns eventually if not right away. I remember reading that they did webisodes based on them this season. I'm guessing it was a trial run to see if it'd work out or not.

Did any of yall watch Prison Break? That show is over now.
It was pretty solid in season 1 and parts of season 2..but when they got locked in that Mexico prison it all went to hell.
Well..the series finale (4 seasons) was this past Friday. It didn't end too bad.

Apparently Chuck will be returning AFTER the winter olympics next year. Making it basically March of 2010.
So NBC will have effectively killed it pretty hard, because people are stupid and they won't even remember it by then.

yeah, it had really run its course IMO. Somewhat enjoyable show this season, but nothing ground-breaking. Earl was really just a way to kill 30 minutes. Maybe they bring something better in.
Anyone going to watch Glee on FOX? I haven't heard much about it, but one of the producers is related to my mother-in-law, so she told me about it. It seems like the Oz choir sub-plot from American pie, but may be enjoyable. Who knows. But i do really like jane lynch.
Extended Trailer for it here:

Sounds like some Lost fan fiction...

Here's the NBC fall preview.
http://www.nbc.com/upcoming-shows/
They're doing the SNL Thursday thing again. And then showing a show called Community. All i know is that Joel McHale is in that, so i will definitely be watching.
I'm mildly intrigued by Parenthood. Good movie.
why oh why is the Biggest loser 2 hours? Such a bloated show.

He hosts The Soup. Pretty funny.
Mary, word is strong that Medium will move to CBS. Apparently, CBS produces it and has already signed a syndication deal with Lifetime. So the more shows they make, the more money CBS makes. I could easily see this paired with Ghost Whisperer.
Also rumblings that Earl may move to FOX. FOX produces Earl.

Oh the list of canceled shows 500,000 times better than Ghost Whisperer I could make... They must pay her nothing.

little blurb about Medium and Earl.
Quote:
The dismissal of "Earl" and "Medium," accompanied by Silverman's comments that each of them was "an aging franchise, without a single fan letter, with no passion," didn't sit well with the producers of both series.
CBS Studios, which is behind "Medium," came out with a sternly worded statement.
"NBC's cancellation of 'Medium' is inexplicable to us," the statement said. "The ratings don't lie: 'Medium' outperforms many of NBC's renewed shows ... We believe the show has a significant future and await developments."
Those developments are said to involve a pickup by sister network CBS.
Meanwhile, "Earl" creator Greg Garcia didn't spare harsh words for NBC either, telling the Los Angeles Times: "It's hard to be too upset about being thrown off the Titanic."
"Earl" producer 20th TV is in talks with Fox and ABC about a potential pickup for the 4-year-old series.

what a great line from Greg Garcia!

I see that Medium has indeed been picked up, and paired with famous Eskimo actor Jennifer Love Hewitt on Friday nights on CBS.
btw...CBS still has exactly ONE show that we watch in my house. How I met your Mother. How are they not in last place?

Are there a lot of Eskimos in Waco, TX?
(or are you talking pre-op?)

Speaking of which - this season, when it comes to "liberal comedies" vs. "spin-off liberal comedies in conservative clothing":
American Dad > Family Guy
Colbert Report > Daily Show

i have a few - HIMYM, Survivor, CSI, Mentalist, Amazing Race.
They are on top because of Two and a Half Men (i've never laughed at that show), the CSI franchise (i only watch the original), and they have the 2 best reality shows on network TV.
I'm certainly no CBS defender, but they have a formula with crime dramas that pull in viewers.

If Scrubs brings back Ansari as a intern, or even lead.... I think it'd work.
that said, I'll be watching it anyways, the writers will still be there, and its a funny show. Worth seeing where they go with it.

I was never really a big fan of scrubs. I have had very few laugh out loud moments for that show. I watched til the end of season 5 too. I heard it went even further downhill from there.

I've been re-watching Six Feet Under as its come out on on-demand for the past six months or so (I've probably missed a few eps here and there). There are only six more to go in Season 5. I was a Day 1 P1 of SFU when it first came on and I realize it wasn't everyone's cup of tea. But I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the best tv series I've ever watched. I'd forgotten how much I absolutely enjoyed watching the Fishers every Sunday night in all of their dysfunctional glory, not to mention those crazy-ass Chenowiths. I'm so excited for the last 6 episodes to come out in June. The series finale is one of the best ever, IMO.
Just had to give kudos to an old favorite.
Edit: HBO programming just isn't what it used to be. I'll have to say that SFU and The Wire were definitely the best, with The Sopranos falling in right behind them.

SFU ending is what I use to judge other series finales. You couldn't wrap up a show more perfectly.
I honestly think JJ Abrams watched SFU and decided he didn't like the ending so he wanted to do something completely different for Alias by making it as idiotic as possible. I just hope he got over that for Lost. *crosses fingers*

Lucky for us u2, by his own admission, JJ Abrams has nothing to do with LOST now. He says he just watches the show like we do.
Damon Lindelof, on the other hand has said that his favorite series finale of all time is the MASH finale. Which was pretty emotionally satisfying IMO and gave the characters nice send offs.

On the subject of Parks and Recreation... i stayed with it and actually found myself laughing alot by the short seasons end. Once you get to know the characters and their idiosyncrasies you find them pretty hillarious. Poehler isn't the star of that show though, it's all the side characters and their selfish tendencies.
I don't know if it's going to go anywhere, but I'm glad it's going to get more than 6 episodes to let it play out.

I only watched the first three and then kind of bailed. I like her boss, particularly that bit in the pilot where he had the mounted gun that points directly at the chair in front of his desk.
