Default RE: Mavs seek point post help

Pavel can cross over and can shoot the 3, and Booth can hit outide shots.

Clearly, having used the versatile Walker at C near season's end, Nellie has had a vision, and has abandoned the Pt-F concept (replacing it with the innovative Pt-C).

What the hell does this mean?

-------

Dmoney (dallas): is there any chance that portland would move NVE to the mavs? they really need a point and the blazers have quite a few guards

Dr. Jack Ramsay: No chance...the Mavs are ok at the point...trust me.

I'd be surprised if he knew anything, though he did phrase that a little suspiciously. He made another comment I think about how the Mavs youngsters would offset the loss of Nash, so I think he probably just means that he likes Daniels and Harris.

Here was Dr Jack's other quote. He didn't really answer the question ...

Al (Miami): Dr. Jack...you gotta answer this...What's going on with the Mavs? Please don't tell me that this is the team we are bringing to the table. I know that we have to wait 60 days before we can trade Stack or Laetner....Does Mark Cuban have something up his sleeve? And is the VC trade still a possiblity? What are you thoughts on that trade?

Dr. Jack Ramsay: Don't fret too much about the Mavs. They'll be a factor in the West again. The loss of Nash is offset by the presence of the youngsters in the backcourt...and Dirk will come up with a better season...and Finley will help again. I like Booth better than Fortson too...

I probably have as much info on the Mavs as Ramsey does, but I like that he agrees with me.

if the mavs are looking for a point guard that would be good at posting up, then they should try to acquire earl boykins

This looks like a classic PM conversation that the rest of the board could care less to read about. (hint, hint...)

All of a sudden Dr. Jack is saying good things about the Mavs. Geez, before he would be pokin his cane out calling us a bunch of "wipper-snappers".....hey whatever, at least he's not bashing us anymore. Maybe it's because Cuban hadn't really gotten a lot of good young talent through the draft (since he ownd them) til Harris, Daniels and Howard.

Point guard that posts up? Marc Jackson from Houston is available isnt he?

Mark Jackson will bring his cane signed by Dr. Jack Ramsay.

Gary Payton is a point gaurd that loves to post up. Beyond that, wtf do the mavs need one for anyhow; thought this thread was a joke.

Well, er ahhhh, well ah ah ah ......nah couldn't be a joke could it. Here is the latest.

Mavs to replace Nellie. The Dallas Mavericks have begun a head coaching search. The thought is that this team needs an unconventional coach.

Someone with innovative ideas. Someone to reinvent the game.

Canidates should have the following qualifications:

Seek a center that shoots outside and not post up.
Find a point guard that can post up.
Play players out of position, it's more exciting
Don't have a consistent lineup.
Play the matchup game- Matchup to other teams, don't make them matchup to you.
Don't teach defense.
And above all the canidate must keep the team from getting overconfident in themselves. If you are up by 20 with 4 minutes left, be sure and foul Shaq and stop the clock and put him on the line shooting freethrows. It's coaching genius that wins it baby.

Point Center?

It's been done. Remember how effective Alvin Adams was with Phoenix.
