There was no way out for him though. I firmly believe he would be booed at home on a consistent basis even if he had showed up with no drama. The fans have already turned on him.
I mean, is it really better if he just half ass plays like Harden did for Houston in his last days there? Houston was a trash team, so he could afford to do that. Philly needs to win now, and Ben isn't going to be a part of that. So why pretend?
There are no winners in this as long as it continues. But the idea that Ben is the only childish one is silly. Putting his salary in escrow to deduct fines from it while not paying him is ridiculous.

Westbrook to LA was so overhyped and I'm here for a Lakers implosion. That team is old old.

The Pacers rookie was insane last night. He is not afraid to shoot.

Duarte is really good. Lot of solid rookie play across the first games.

I had not thought of it this way, but a lot of similarities there. Though tough to come back and play for a coach and FO that openly dogged you, right or wrong, direct or indirect, after the post season loss.

Brad Townsend Retweeted
Jordan Schultz@Schultz_Report
: The NBA is preparing for a massive story accusing #Suns owner Robert Sarver of racism, sexism and sexual harassment in a series of incidents, sources say. With enough evidence to support such claims, there’s a real chance the league would forcibly remove Sarver.

He’s a Republican & Trump supporter, right? But they are not racist! Or sexist. None of them them ever are.

Baseless accusations based on baseless accusations, incredible really. It's as if you think one side is sparkling clean. I'm starting to doubt independent think is near non-existent these days, especially with respect to politics. Seems everyone has to inject it into everything.

Favorite non-Mav player to watch...
Ja Morant this season:
37 Points - 6 Assists - 58% FG
28 Points - 8 Assists - 52% FG
40 Points - 10 Assists - 62% FG
Memphis makes the playoffs this season.

And don't forget starter Desmond Bane. Lordy that 2020 draft is a sour one for Mavs fans.

Yep - I wanted us to draft him so bad. Followed him while he played at TCU
currently putting up an avg 19.3 points per game, 3 assists.

When a root cause analysis is done years from now this will be exhibit A on what went wrong with the Mavs having drafted the best talent in almost 2 decades.

Man, Derozan is good? Whoulda thunk?
They have no bench though and will run their starters to death by the end of the season.

And I see Miles Turner only had 15 minutes tonight under Rick. Pretty crazy when he had 40 points two games ago and is now already doghoused.

Man, really wanted DeRozan here. And that is interesting with Turner. Maybe Rick would love to swap for a package with Powell and/or Kleber? That'd be a nice addition tbh
It was apparently national dunk/poster day, my goodness were there some hi flyers last night!

Remember when Westbrook carried the Lakers to a glorious win over his former team the Thunder?
Me neither.

Dragic DNP and Lowry has been pretty bad for Miami although they are winning.

Laughing at Westbrook more concerned about a garbage time dunk than his double digit turnovers and hollow triple double. Such an overrated acquisition...

The best is how good Montrezl Harrell has been for Washington. He is almost always one of the most underrated players in the NBA.

Yep and he'll have a growing role with Gafford potentially injured for a while.

Atlanta Hawks 3-3 and tied for the 10th spot in the east after 7.3% of the season. We were led to believe that there was no way a team could beat Atlanta after the 1st game. Maybe Dallas is just that bad. By the way - Trae looks worse than Luka during this Atlanta poor start going for 11-33 from the field while avg 14 points a game over the last 2 games. At least he is skinny and in shape.

Didn't they say they are playing with new balls or something? Something is out of whack.

Unlike Football, both teams play with the same balls. But yes it is a weird start to the year.

Might have something to do with him and others not getting all those FT from bullshit foul calls when they jump into defenders. I love the rule change so far.

Cept the refs now think that defenders can absolutely mangle Luka and it's fair because of the new rule.

Despite Luka and Dirk, Dallas will always be a second/third tier destination behind LA, NY, CHI, and BOS

What was the story with Derozan? Did he even entertain or consider other teams? Seems these dudes have the next team lined up prior to FA even starting and maybe the Mavs new FO will be able to adopt the norm. I think the Mavs signing THJ so quickly is a good indicator that Derozan gave the thanks but no thanks.

well the Heat looked terrible cuz they shot terrible against Boston... got blown out.
another obs - Tatum is shooting below 40% to start the year. i'm sure he'll heat up but some of these other "Stars" are also struggling and not playing the best as of yet this season.
