I'm not as excited about the race for the last spot because of this. They fight for five more games tops.
In my opinion the West isn't as wide open as it was in recent years. Maybe the Spurs and to a lesser extent us might be able to outsmart them, but not even the Rockets and wannabe MVP Harden are even close of beating them in a series.

My take right now is that the Spurs and Clippers have the best shot at stopping the Warriors from going to the NBA Finals. I'd still bet on the Warriors prevailing though.

Both teams are 42-36
NOP is 5-5 in last 10
OKC is 4-6 in last 10
Upcoming schedule:
NOP
Suns 4/10
@ Rockets 4/12
@ Timberwolves 4/13
Spurs 4/15
OKC
Kings 4/10
@Pacers 4/12
Blazers 4/13
@Wolves 4/15
NOP has the tougher schedule, but holds the tie breaker. OKC has the easier schedule by far.
Hard to bet against OKC, but it could get interesting.
|
Depends on whether the Spurs 4/15 has any meaning for the Spurs. Pacers are fighting for a spot and wont be an easy win for OKC

So ray Allen's run as the greatest shooter ever didn't last very long(if it ever existed) Steph is as clearly the greatest shooter ever as anyone else is the best anything else ever.

I die a little inside every time I remember we could have drafted him

Yes, but the guy we did draft was traded to get Tyson back, so who's to say we wouldn't have had to throw in Giannis in the same trade?

each ref at that game should be fined for not calling this.

And Silver better do something with these ridiculously terrible refs. It's definitely a league-wide issue that doesn't seem to be addressed.

What is Erik Spoelstra doing?
http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/...ht-terrors-wtf
Is he...
- Fighting off an invisible swarm of bees?
- Trying to dance like Elaine from Seinfeld?
- Calling a timeout?
- Battling a voodoo curse?
- Playing the worst game of charades ever?
- Practicing Tae Bo?
- Night terrors?
- Playing Wii Tennis, minus a Wii?

Westbrook scores 54 points on 43 (43!) shots. In the process he picks up his 16th technical of the year and must sit out one game. That certainly won't help their chances of making the playoffs.

Well after the all Game 1's the only team that impressed me were the Clippers.
If they can hold that level of defense they will be tough to beat.
Atl and Cavs were horrible given that they already see themselves in the final.
Golden State looked great for times but nearly let the Game slip away.
Rest of the Games were kind of sluggish.

Yeah, first round was pretty rough. Lots of teams that were dominant in the regular season but only the Clippers looked like champions so far.

@WojYahooNBA: Yahoo Sources: Oklahoma City fires coach Scott Brooks.

Rough. He seemed like a decent coach. They just missed the playoffs because of injuries. I'd definitely give him a look if Carlisle leaves.

Brooks is a terrible, terrible coach. Has no idea who to play or how to set up a play on offense. Thunder should become co-favorites in the West next year just for losing him. If Carlisle's playing chess, Scott Brooks is playing tiddlywinks.

Has there been any other season when playoff teams were that injured as they are now? If OKC would've gotten in, the injury list would've been a mile long.
About Brooks; if Dallas is tanking/rebuilding through draft, I wouldn't mind having a look at him. I wouldn't sign him to win a title but he could be better at developing young players than RC.
I wouldn't be too worried if Carlisle goes to OKC. He'd have Durant sitting in the corners waiting for 3PT attempts.

Pelicans lose in OT after choking away a 20-point lead in the 4th.

Why the hell didn't Pondexter foul? Did Monty Williams tell them not to? And Speights traveled, egregiously. How can the refs not call that? 4 steps

Crowder with a great game last night and guarded James as well as he could.
Fu**in' Rondo. What a piece of crap.

Game 2 Griffin was a mental midget with like 3 TO's in final minute. This game he misses both of his ft's late. Deandre tip was brutal. Clips will never take that next step if Blake doesn't dominate and step up in those clutch moments.
He has a nice box score but he has to step up in those final moments. Got blocked by Duncan twice late too.

Enjoying every moment. Whats the German word for this? Schadenfreude?
I detest Blake, Chris Paul and Doc and also Matt Barnes somewhat(at least he's not a phony- he owns his creepiness- for what its worth). Also Big baby suddenly fancies himself some sort of enforcer? Just such an easy team to root against. Houston as well. I'll be actively rooting against Clippers, Rockets and Cavs the rest of the way.

I don't know if the preceding 2 posters watched game 6, but Blake dominated that game and stepped up pretty big in the 2nd half

I didn't think he dominated the game personally. He definitely stepped up in the 2nd half though. My only issue with him early in the series was that he was choking in the last few mins of each game. They have no bench. If he and CP3 don't play well they lose. But it's much more on Griffin since CP3 is way more of a pg than a scorer.

Good for the league that the Spurs lost early. Their fans are spoiled and don't watch until the conference finals anyway, so they probably won't find out about this for another couple weeks.
