Options for Watching Dirk and the Deutschlanders in Beijing
Mods, my apologies in advance if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I'd like to gather info regarding our television viewing options for the German basketball team in Beijing.
I know all the USA games will be easy to catch on NBC, but surely with so many broadcasting options (NBC, USA, CNBC, DirecTV on Demand, web video), I'm hoping to catch as much live action of Dirk as possible. Obviously, my preference is glorious HDTV, but I will resign myself to grainy web video if that is all that's available. Germany's schedule is as follows (all Dallas times): 8/9/08--Germany v. Angola--10:15 PM 8/11/08--Germany v. Greece--1:30 AM 8/13/08--Germany v. Spain--8:00 PM 8/16/08--Germany v. China--7:00 AM 8/18/08--Germany v. USA--7:00 AM Please share any TV info you have for these games. Thanks, and Go Dirk! |

NBC Olympics site
Depending on your tv provider, you may have the dedicated soccer and basketball HD channels, in which case you can watch/record every game live. Beyond that, you can certainly watch every game online at the nbc olympics site, and their video is very high quality.

DirecTV has a dedicated basketball channel with all games in HD. I believe the channel number is 754. Pretty sure Dish Network has the same, but don't know what the channel number would be.

NBC is broadcasting just about anything you would want to watch online in very good quality. I would not recommend using those links above unless NBC's will not work for some reason.

I'm watching Russia versus Iran right now online and the quality of the video is pretty terrible. It is choppy. You get like a sec of video then miss a sec then a sec then miss a sec...
I'd rather the screen be smaller and it continuous action rather than a larger screen that "buffers" every second. Yuck. |

I don´t know the availability of olympic games in the united states. Pay per view or free ?
If you can´t watch, try this site - BUT ATTENTION --- >>> click ( follow the "live" button ) --->>> If it doesn´t start german proxy ( or other country ) required !!!

Has anyone else found the NBC Dedicated Basketball Channel on DirecTV to be utterly useless? Every time I check it, they're not showing a damn thing! There's obviously a feed of all these webcast games, so why not put it on Ch. 754?
