I was ready to give up following a team and just follow nba + Luka. Didn’t think it was possible that this team would ever be a defending team. That’s Kidd. Clearly he’s grown and reflected on what went wrong in Milwaukee and Brooklyn. Learned in LA as an assistant. The past off court stuff is a different conversation though.

I think this matchup was perfect for him compared to the Clippers matchup last year.

Utah doesn't have those long switchable wings like LA and he's played well against them all year.

Now Phoenix is going to be a lot different they have mutiple defensive wings like LA. Hopefully the Mavs can move on and possibly catch them without Booker.

And don't forget what I said a month ago. The Mavs NEED Kleber. He'll be less important once Luka gets Powell some buckets, but Maxi getting hurt again would be a huge loss (knocks on wood). I feel like his injuries are what make him look terrible at times.

Thing about Gobert is that he’s about the best there is at defending 0-5’

I’m not sure even with Luka, Powell can be a difference maker in the offensive end

We win or lose on what her our bigs can shoot. They’ll be wide open because Gobert can’t get out to them. If Gobert does go out, then we can get a layup with the right pass because Gobert can’t recover back to the paint.

If Gobert is forced out of the paint It also means they lose their rebounding advantage. Mavs went from losing each game in the boards by 19 each to winning the rebounding battle in game three. It’s half the reason Snyder had to pull Gobert— he wasn’t rebounding and bigs were still getting wide open looks. After Kleber wrecked the Jazz in game 2, Snyder had to get Gobert onto the perimeter and by doing so Mavs regained the rebounding advantage

Kidd playing Green no matter what this season paid off. He was big for us when JB went down. Hit a cpl 3s ans had 6 assists and a big steal. That's why you gotta play these kids. You never know when you're gonna need em and you need them to be comfortable
