To partially quote the great Dirk "Well-well-well... look what day it is...look what day it is!" It's another revenge game.

With DFS out, it might save Rick from himself because now it's almost impossible to botch the obvious JRich on Dame matchup. Luckily, It comes at a time where JRich has been real solid defensively.

We can not F aboot, we need to dig in and get these 2 wins vs another solid team. Dame is a flamethrower and will be hard to handle and we need more than a 1-1 in this series. IF we have turned the corner, it will show after these 2 wins.

For me its a failure to lose both, break even is meh- ok, win both its great success. We tie them essentially for 6th. This isn't the Lakers or an elite contender. Moving us out of the play in bubble is important. We do have plenty of time to do that but we need to take advantage of these full game movements in standings within our own conference playoff race.

I understand where you are coming from buuuuut, Winning both is absolutely a win in the series. Winning 1 of these 2 games is a tie. I'd rather be optimistic than technical.

Might have to play him 40 minutes or else it could get out of hand.

Not sure what the Mavs are going to do with Kanter because he's just moving bodies down there and for some reason the team feels they are good up front despite all these big's over powering us inside.

I hope they treat this like the Clippers game with Luka's minutes. These two games are just as important. They rested him against OKC. Time to cash in.

Mavs just can't execute late in games. That's on Carlise. Blazers are running five fucking midgets out there but Carlisle won't run a set for Porzingis or put WCS out there. Stop adapting to other teams and force them to adapt to you. God we're frustrating sometimes.

The Mavs got good shots. Maxi's shot was halfway down. They just didn't make them, and THJ didn't rebound. Jrich was terrible.

Aaron Gordon is what I come with but it's looking like Denver is going to make that smart move over Dallas.

I've basically given up hope for this team getting beyond the 1st round.

They just don't have any size inside to grab key rebounds late in games and they can't really control the better wing players when needed in crunch time.

Cuban feels like the team is good as is unless someone wants to trade them a star for nothing in return.

The elephant in the room is that Luka might get a little better at a few things over the next 5 years but this group of players just doesn't have enough even if Luka ascends from the 3 or 4th best player in NBA to unequivocally the best player in league. Porzingis as a legit 2nd star is a bust. We need to face that and move him for a create his own offense type of guy. There should be nobody other than Luka that is untouchable from a trade perspective. If we can't land a star free agent in the next year and learn to draft when outside the top 5 what hope is there to build around young Luka before he bolts. A young rebounder like Saddiq Bey would really help in these type of games where 2nd shot opportunities for Blazers killed Mavs. Good effort though.

But isn't that the case in most of the close games that they let seem to slip a way?

They settle for 3's instead of attacking the rim vs small lineups and those 3's somehow don't seem to fall late in games.

Sure they can get away with it vs bad teams but it just seems like vs the good teams it's the same old exact script late games over and over again .

I watched THJ on several plays just let guys rebound because he's slow to react or box out.

There was one play where Derek Jones Jr. just reacted quicker than THJ and Richardson on the offensive glass. They were in a position to box dude out and neither guy moved.

But it's also over the course of a game where someone like Kanter will grab offensive rebounds and get easy buckets and by the time you look you that guy has 14 points and 10 rebounds

Zubac did this to Dallas in both Clippers games.

It puzzles me because they see the defensive deficiency on the boards yet they think it won't hurt them in playoff games.

Good PG's expose this team 90% of the time and I've seen enough now to realize neither Richardson or DFS is going to solve that problem.

I also believe Kleber wears down late in games because once teams get him defending inside they just tire him out so his legs are zapped by the 4th qtr.

KP is just puzzling.....

You can clearly see they want to get him the ball inside and he's been aggressive taking shots inside but now the ref's are calling him for every offensive foul in the books lately.

He can't create his own shot so that leads to him going half of qtr's without a shot.

They settle for 3's because Luka is about the only person that can consistently and successfully get to the rim. He is toast after 38 minutes of not getting the support he deserves. This is why I advocate moving Porzingis for another dynamic scorer that has the ability to create his own offense. Porzingis has become a replacement level 3 point shooter for the Mavs only not as good at it as Maxi.

When I hear that we’re jacking threes, all I think is what would happen if we made them.

Getting good, open threes used to be a sign that the offense was working.

If you asked DM.com, you’d think it was the cause of our issues
