With Jameer out, I would like to see Kidd in the skills challenge. Kidd vs. Harris would be good TV =P
Looks like Rudy Gay is dropping out of the dunk contest, I wonder who they are going to replace him with.
Kapono is going to win another 3 point contest.

JR Smith has replaced Rudy Gay in the Slam Dunk Contest.

He had a nice off the backboard alley oop dunk.
'Nique looked so old out there.

I recommend checking out the highlights of the celebrity game at NBA.com. My goodness TO can throw it down.
And Durant showed why he had no business being in the rookie/soph game. He should have been in the real game.

I'm going to take Joe Johnson for H-O-R-S-E
If Kapono doesn't win, I'll take Lewis.
Rose for the skills competition.
Superman Returns for the Dunk, Dwight.

This is a crappy year for the contests. Kapono should easily win. The skills challenge is not exciting at all. And the dunk contest hasn't crowned the right winner in several years.

And so far the Horse competition really needs a pure shooter in it. It has been extremely underwhelming to this point.

The new Jumpman commercial with all the low-angle, on-court action is one of the best commercials I've ever seen.

I agree....
If I remember correctly, Josh is part of the "Jumpman" legion isn't he?
Josh must've been hurt at the time of filming.....

And Pepe LePew comes in last place. They should change up the skills competition and make it real players at the end. They can try and swipe at the ball when they go by. Instead of just the cardboard cutouts they have where Ray Charles can weave through....

Kenny thinks that Kapono couldn't win it in another era. Shooting translates to every era. Craig Hodges wasn't even PLAYING in the NBA one year he won it.
Kapono is born for these type of competitions.

T.O. dunked a lot and played a nice game last year too. I wonder who could win one on one T. O. or Romo...

Yeah, Kenny can be a douche, he is just too cool for school most times. His the founder and originator of soo much stuff and his era was the best.. He rests his case.

Being the lowest score out of the first round to advance hurts you. It doesn't give you time to rest.
What a terrible display.

Nate Robinson has never done anything worthy of being in the dunk conteset other than dunking over Spud Webb. That off Chandler's back was stupid.

Ok, the theatrics are cool, but this feels more like the Dwight dunk show rather than the dunk contest.

The dunk itself is weak. There are many leapers who could dunk on that goal. James White being one of them.
The showmanship was nice but it still did not deserve a 50. Jordan and Nique could have gotten that as well. Larry Nance. Dr. J... Carter. Who else? Let's see... Kenny Walker... Rex Chapman..

There are very, very few people under 6'11" that could dunk on a 12 ft rim. You are out of your mind if you think Rex Chapman could have done it.

Well, that goal didn't look 2 feet higher than the other one to me.
But the top of the backboard is over 12 feet. Way over it. The change off the backboard is a myth. But there have been MANY guys who can touch the top of the square on the backboard. It isn't anything special.
And a 6'6" guy with a 40"+ vertical a la Chapman could do it. Not that guys just attempt it regularly.
