Ochoa eyes birdie record. Lorena Ochoa is closing in on one of the more
impressive records in LPGA history. Ochoa has carded 403 birdies this year
and needs only six in her final two events to break Maria Hjorth's record of
408 set in 1999. Already, Ochoa has set the single-season record for eagles
(currently at 19; record was 17) and has tied the record for rounds under
par (71).
