Default Does anyone use ING direct or HSBC Direct?

Ive been looking at using one of these two for a while. Right now HSBC is offering an introductory rate of 6% and ING has a referral program in which I could get $25 for signing up. They look pretty good especially when Wells Fargo offers something like .5%. Does anyone use any of these? Good or bad experiences? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

HSBC Direct is pretty good. I use it to park the money from 0% APR offers.

I've been using ING for a savings account for about 5 years. i really like it. easy to transfer money, and the rates are better than you'd see at any local bank.

Yeah out of all three of the mentioned ones, Emigrantdirect has the best rates. Its just that as ive been researching them, I see alot of people arent happy with their service and their website.

The website isn't terrific, but it's been upgraded since I opened the account. So it doesn't suck like it used to - but it still may suck in comparison to ING or HSBC or others.

Had the account for almost 2 years and i've yet to make a withdrawl - I can't really speak to their customer service.

I went ahead and opened an account with HSBC Direct. I think they will be good although it takes a while to get the account running. I have to wait for a bunch of letters to come in the mail.

They are banks. Were discussing more specifically their online savings accounts which usually give significantly better interest rates than you would find at brick and mortar banks down the street.

are these all strict "savings accounts" or do any of them offer limited check-writing ability?

(like a money market account, that allows a couple of checks a month, as long as they are over a certain amount....?)
