Dallas trades: SF Josh Howard (8.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.3 apg in 22.7 minutes)
PG Tony Delk (6.6 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.8 apg in 16.3 minutes)

Dallas receives: C Theo Ratliff (7.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 0.9 apg in 41 games)
PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.5 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 2.5 apg in 41 games)
Change in team outlook: -6.8 ppg, -4.0 rpg, and -4.5 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Dallas does this to get some low post defense and scoring.

ATL does this b/c Shareef & Ratliff both want to be traded. Walker's salary will come off the books next year AND they get prized young prospect, Josh Howard.

I know nobody wants to trade Howard - but he may be our most tradeable asset. He's young and inexpensive. If you're going to ask another team to dance with you - you've got to make it appealing to them.

DID YOU KNOW...

Shareef Abdur Rahim has had his shot blocked more than any other player in NBA history? (at least since people started keeping track of that kind of stuff).

According to NBA statistician, Harvey Pollack, Abdur-Rahim has been blocked 960 times in the past 11 seasons!

Well his game would definitely improve by moving to Dallas since A) he'd have less games against the 2nd leading shot blocker this year, Ben Wallace and B) he wouldn't have any games against one of the games all time great shot blockers Shawn Bradley.
