Default Dallas/Washington/Miami

Dallas trades: PF Antoine Walker (16.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 5.4 apg in 38.2 minutes)
Dallas receives: C Brendan Haywood (5.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 16.7 minutes)

SG Larry Hughes (19.0 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.3 apg in 34.5 minutes)
SF Jarvis Hayes (10.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.7 apg in 32.0 minutes)
C Brendan Haywood (5.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 16.7 minutes)
Washington receives: PF Antoine Walker (16.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 5.4 apg in 40 games)

Change in team outlook: -13.3 ppg, -0.9 rpg, and +2.4 apg.

Miami trades: SF Lamar Odom (16.7 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 3.8 apg in 37.7 minutes)
SF Caron Butler (6.1 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 25.5 minutes)

SG Larry Hughes (19.0 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.3 apg in 39 games)
SF Jarvis Hayes (10.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.7 apg in 39 games)
Change in team outlook: +3.0 ppg, -7.2 rpg, and -1.5 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Dallas does this to get Haywood, a decent big guy, and Odom, an efficient guy. We could have Dirk, Jamison, Finley, and Odom locked up for the next four years at the least.

Washington does this to clear cap room. They could land a big free agent if Walker opts out after the season. They would also get Caron Butler. He's struggled this season, but half of that is due to his injury, and the other half is due to the fact that he's the 4th option this season as opposed to being the 2nd last season. He would be the third on Washington after Walker and Arenas

Miami does this for their backcourt. Stackhouse is coming back pretty soon, and they'll be well compensated for the loss of Odom. Their backcourt consists of: Wade, Hayes, Jones, Stackhouse, and Hughes. Also, hughes comes off the books after next season.

Oh yeah, Samaki Walker comes off the books after this year. And with the exception of assist, Odom's numbers are almost identical to Antoine's. Maybe Dallas could use him as a point forward.

And we'd either have to cut Best, or buy out steffanson's contract for this to work. We could shove Walker to the IL

lol, miami would never do this trade. The only way they would even halfway consider it was if Washington and Dallas were overly generous with their offering of draft picks.

From now on lets ask ourselves "does this trade idea of ______________ for _______________ fit Mark Cuban's description of a 'sweetheart of a deal'?" before we post.

Anything else is just wasted space.

And no, I don't think this trade fits that category.

If you read that entire post, you'd know i was referring to SAMAKI Walker.

Xerxes, you don't think getting an 7 years younger player with equal talent and slightly better shooter, and a younger and serviceable big man a sweetheart deal? I would.

Dirkstein, Miami would have a ton of scoring options. Wade/Hughes at the point, Stackhouse/Hayes at the 2, and move Jones up at the three. That's a good young backcourt.

ok theres no way in hell miami does this. They Odom is their franchise player. This just doesnt work. 2 of the players they get will ride the bench. they loose their all star PF a potential all star SF for 3 SG/SFs....stackhouse is washed up...hughes isnt a team plays and hayes is not better than butler

Miamis rotation
C...Grant
Pf..no one
Sf. Stackhouse(who isnt a sf)hayes
SG Jones/Hughes
PG Wade

just doesnt work my friend

I like the notion of their current roster better than this one... Stackhouse may be washed up as well

How about this straight trade with Washington:

Dallas trades: SG Marquis Daniels (4.6 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 10.2 minutes)
SG Jon Stefansson (4.6 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 10.2 minutes)
PG Travis Best (3.4 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 14.7 minutes)
PF Antoine Walker (16.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 5.4 apg in 38.2 minutes)
Dallas receives: PF Kwame Brown (9.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 26.6 minutes)
PG Brevin Knight (3.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 3.0 apg in 17.0 minutes)
PF Christian Laettner (6.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 23.1 minutes)
C Brendan Haywood (5.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 16.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +1.6 ppg, +6.3 rpg, and -1.2 apg.

Washington trades: PF Kwame Brown (9.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 26.6 minutes)
PG Brevin Knight (3.8 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 3.0 apg in 17.0 minutes)
PF Christian Laettner (6.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 23.1 minutes)
C Brendan Haywood (5.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 0.5 apg in 16.7 minutes)
Washington receives: SG Marquis Daniels (4.6 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25 games)
SG Jon Stefansson (4.6 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 25 games)
PG Travis Best (3.4 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 2.1 apg in 34 games)
PF Antoine Walker (16.1 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 5.4 apg in 40 games)
Change in team outlook: -1.6 ppg, -6.3 rpg, and +1.2 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Dallas' New Line-up:

Brendan Haywood/Kwame Brown/Shawn Bradley
Dirk Nowitzki/Kwame Brown/Christian Laettner
Antawn Jamison/Josh Howard/Christian Laettner
Michael Finley/Josh Howard
Steve Nash/Brevin Knight

Haywood and Brown are promising young 7-footers, and Knight is an excellent back-up point. Washington gets an excellent starting line-up for next year, after their best players come back from injury:

Etan Thomas
Antoine Walker
Jerry Stackhouse
Larry Hughes
Gilbert Arenas

That line-up would be pretty competitive in the east.

I may be violating the "sweet-heart" rule, because we give up the biggest tallent in Walker. But are two up-and-coming 7-footers worth it? Kwame Brown wasn't worth a #1 pick, but he's still a talented big man who could probably give us 10/8 and a block or two. Haywood is a good rebounder, shot-blocker, and low-post defender. Both will only get better.

Miami lineup:

Wade/Hughes
Stackhouse/Hayes
Jones/Butler
Haslem/Allen(I think)
Grant/Wallace/Wang

6 people come off the books for Miami this summer, so they could sign a Foyle or Dale Davis to help the frontcourt. 4 other players only have one year left.

I've seen a lot of Heat games, i'm not too sure why. They're all star is Wade, Odom never seems like he scores a lot, but ends up with like 20. Caron Butler does not seem important to them at all. He's their fourth option after Wade, Odom, and Jones. They wouldn't lose much without him. Rasual Butler is a good player that is very similar to Josh Howard. The reason they aren't contenders right now is because of their lack of depth. This would certainly help them out in that department.

Either way, this thread can take your mind off of Portland and Rasheed.

LRB- I'd figure you'd do my deal. lol

Misfit- in your trade, we don't get back a star, and only get one role player. Kwame is still in my books as "potential." We already have 3 point guards, so Knight wouldn't do us any good. The only thing Laettner is good for now is to clear cap room, which wouldn't help us. The only player that helps is Haywood.

Point taken. I don't think those guys are as bad as you do (Kwame is only 21 and playing pretty well), but I can see where you're coming from. My reasoning is based on our need for an athletic low-post defender, and, in my opinion, our need to clear out the log-jam at the four. I don't think we can get too much for Walker, and we do not need anymore all-stars anyway. We need role-players.
