So this thing is still a thing?
I totally forgot this website existed. How I remembered my password I will never know.
What is up, guys?

This place is pretty different now.

What is missing here? What can be done about it?

On D-M.com?
We could use your presence again. Lots of the older posters haven't been on in a while. We miss people like Xerxes and Madape-- some of the old posters. Yourself included.
We also lost a lot with Twitter replacing message boards. Lots of people are still actively discussing, but doing so on their own twitter feed or else responding to BG, Tim McMahon, Fish, and/or others.

I don't think the board ever fully recovered after the 2006 Finals.

Murph, it had gone downhill way before that.
But, you're right.

Not that I was around circa 2001, but I'm sure there are lots of old-ish posters like myself that still lurk, but don't post near as much.
I read the forums nearly everyday, but I just don't have the brain space much these days to post (late 20s, work/life taking over free time).

We'd love to hear from you more. If anything we are bad because more people don't speak up. Still, i know the feeling. I'm 31 now and work has taken over more of my life than I'd have liked it to. We certainly all get busier as life goes on rather than the other way around.

Early 30s work/life/married/just bought a house is exactly why I come around as much as I do. It's a nice get away from it all, but there also won't be much to talk about until the draft/FA.

Wow. I got banned a while back for some fairly benign remarks, and the first thing I see on coming back in this week is Erica, who banned me, ripping off f-words like crazy, and a thread title that is so far outside the community standards it's crazy.
Stay classy, D-M.com. Stay classy.

You really don't understand the difference between venting about current Mavs events and attacking other posters?

Could be wrong, but I thought you attacked someone pretty disgustingly in the post I saw. I do not ascribe any difference from one person to another, if that answers your question.
Were you the one who wanted someone to get sick, or tear a tendon, or die?

If I wished that on a poster, then by all means report it. One of the mods will take care of it. As mods, we aren't going to edit every person who lets profanity or insult slip in the most emotional time in Mavsricks history. I'm sorry if that disappoints you.
If you are offended by people being emotional then you are more than welcome to move on to a new forum or even Twitter. (Although DM.com may be the most civil so you may be wasting your time)
If, however, you just want to whine about hypocrisy, then you won't get much sympathy because you don't understand that there is a difference between calling a basketball player who will never see this board names and directly insulting other posters on a discussion board. I'm not sure you'll get a lot of support for saying "Jordan is an idiot" in a time of great emotion is the same as saying "poster X, you are an idiot"
Move on. Get over it, or else appeal to other mods. Publicly whining isn't the way to make friends or make change.

I'm sorry, Erica, but my standard of decorum extends to everyone equally. I am amused that you have the courage to tell it to someone you will never meet but not the courage to tell it to someone you will also likely never meet. Enjoy your sandbox.

Enjoy posting your thoughts here or elsewhere!
And sub a classy response for someone who has been banned for calling other people on the hoard names. Decorum? Nice!
