I think Keels looks intriguing, because he moves a little bit like Luka, in the sence of beeing slowish but still gets where and what he wants. Great power, shot and arc looking good as well. Would be a nice pickup if we could get him in the mid 30s.

Mavs are promoting the Draft on social media. Would they do this if they wouldn't be planing something?

Nothing else going on with the NBA, so why wouldn?t they? I guess our trade will become official tonight too.

Mavs need to be doing what the Lakers just did. Come on Nico, don't let your foot off the gas. Future second a cash for the 35th pick? That's nothing.

I thought the same thing especially since rumor is we are looking to get into late first/early 2nd. Why would anyone want to help the Lakers?

The Knicks are trading the No. 11 pick to OKC, who will select Ousmane Dieng, sources tell ESPN.
Damn multiple 1sts for the 11 pick? Not a bad deal for NYK

Liddell and Hardy were available at 26. That is at least interesting. Hardy's value must have really dropped.

Hell yes! Bucket getter loaded with potential. Just thought when he got drafted how I wished we could have moved up for him. Lot of mocks had him in the first.
Marc Stein: The Mavericks trade second-round picks in 2024 and 2028 to Sacramento for the right to break into the draft and select Jalen Hardy from the @nbagleague Ignite at No. 37, league sources say. More NBA from me: 34 seconds ago ? via Twitter TheSteinLine

Man I really wanted Jaylin Williams from Arkansas. He slipped all the way to #34

I liked him too. I?m glad we were able to get Hardy though who appeared to slip from where people had him in mock drafts. I think I read the Mavs had him at 17 on their board.

Like the Hardy pick a lot. Sometimes you got to swing for the fences.
The kid is basically the exact opposite of Josh Green. He doesn't bring defense or toughness, but he's aggressive on offense and brings a demeanor this team is lacking.

Draft Winners
Detroit - Ivey, Duren (wow what a young core; there's a solid chance Ivey is the best player from this draft, getting him at 5 is a coup)
Rockets - Jabari, Eason, Moore (first Jabari fell to them, then they got Eason at 17 which to me is THE steal of the draft; getting three versatile forwards from one draft is amazing)
Mavs - walking away from this draft with Wood and Hardy is amazing considering the assets we came in with
Draft Losers
Memphis - 22 & 29 for 19???? Value wise one of the worst trades I've seen, but I suppose Memphis deserves the benefit of the doubt as they've drafted well... losing Melton on top of that will hurt.... that being said Roddy and LaRavia are both versatile forwards/ role players

I would love to see the Mavs bring in Trevion Williams. Desperately need depth at the 4/5. Wood + Kleber + Powell is not enough given Maxi's injury history.
I don't know much about Hardy. Surprised that Liddell was still available. Hardy has a higher ceiling, but Liddell will likely be a rotation player with the Pelicans or somewhere else.

I still think Hardy is going to be a lot better and a lot quicker than people think. His progression in the g league where they brought him out of his comfort zone spoke volumes. It's weird how many GMs were turned off from him. He doesn't really have any major weaknesses either...although he might a good at all, master of none type of player. Sometimes those players don't click. However, he has some dawg in him like DSJ had which will help. And when he gets hot, watch out. I do think he'll be a streaky hit or miss type of player, but that would be fine coming off the bench. I envision a 6th man scorer mentality long term.
I see no bust here though. That would surprise me if he was.
